Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of electro-" di " acupuncture in the treatment of depression.Methods:40 cases with major depression were adopted in this study,20 cases were in the electro- "di" acupuncture group and 20 cases were in the control group. Sishencong(EX-HN1),neiguan(PC6) and sanyinjiao(SP6) were selected as the major acupuncture points and other points were selected with the syndromes.Patients in the control group were treated with conventional acupuncture on the same points with the treatment group. There were six sections per week,30 minutes per section,and 6 weeks as a period of treatment.The HAMD and HAMA Point were observed before and after treatment.For the result,the HAMD,HAMA point and Reduetionrate were used to evaluate the efficacy.Results:1.The HAMD scores of two groups before and after treatment showed that the scores before treatment were significantly different of the scores after treatment (P<0.01).2. The HAMA scores of two groups before and after treatment showed that the scores before treatment were not significantly different of the scores after treatment (P<0.01).3.The therapy group's effective rate is 95.0%, the comparison group is 90.0% and no significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion:The treatment with both electro- "di" acupuncture and general acupuncture has significant effect on depression. Anxiety symptoms and depressive symptoms on patients were significantly improved.Besides, The treatment with electro- "di" acupuncture is no side effects.Therefore,the treatment with electro- "di" acupuncture can be used as a non-drug treatment in the clinical.
