Objective:This research took digestive patients of damp-heat syndrome as subjects investigated, according to randomized and control method, intervented the patients with Kou Jie Shu. Assess its clinic effect and tongue pictures' spectroscopy. To study its possible functional mechanism and find the way of traditional Chinese medicine acting. To establish the therapeutic thread and methods of clearing heat and eliminating damp, resolving damp with aromatics. And found the academic basis of that traditional Chinese medicine relieving oral microcirculation and anti-infection and extend the application of the theory that spleen as the defender.Methods:1. The tongue pictures'spectroscopy observation of different syndrome.Took the patients as subjects investigated from the out-patient department of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese medicine, collected the patients'spectroscopy information of tongue pictures. Analysed the data of different tongue colour, fur on tongue and fur's thickness.2. Study on the Kou Jie Shu's clinical effects.Useing the randomized and control method, took the patients from in-patient and out-patient departments of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese medicine, collected 64 patients of damp-heat syndromes. Treated the patients in treatment group with Kou Jie Shu(Gang Meigen 30g, Bo He 30g, Huo Xiang 15g, Er Cha 10g, Ding Xiang 5g. Treated the patients in control group with Yin Lian Han Shu Ye. Five days is as one course of treatment. Observed the patients' clinical symptoms and tongue pictures' spectroscopy before and after treatment.Results:1. The trend of the tongue colour's spectroscopy curve from high to low is:purple>red>light red>light white. The trend of fur colour's spectroscopy curve from high to low is:light yellow>middle yellow>brown yellow. The fur thickness' spectroscopy curve is more levis than tongue colour's and fur's. its trend is:thick fur>light fur.2. symptoms relived:compared with pre-treated, the symptoms of moth dryness, bitter taste, bad breath, heat in mouth, tongue pain, gingival bleeding, swelling and aching of gum, dry pharynx and pharyngalgia in Kou Jie Shu out-patients group all have statistic meaning (p<0.05). Compared among different groups, the symptoms of heat in mouth, gingival bleeding, tongue pain, swelling and aching of gum, dry pharynx and pharyngalgia in Kou Jie Shu out-patients group are all superior to Kou Jie Shu in-patient's group and Yin Lian Shu Kou Ye out-patient's group (p<0.05)3. Tongue pictures' spectroscopy results:compared with prior treatment, the spectroscopy pictures' change shows tongue pictures as tongue's redness decreased in Kou Jie Shu out-patient group after treated (p<0.05),and fur's yellow level gets lower, different is obvious (p<0.05), fur's thickness level gets lighter obviously (p<0.05). Compared with different groups, the tongue apex and tongue mid spectroscopy data indicated that the curve changes obviously in Kou Jie Shu out-patient group than other two groups (p<0.05)4. SpO2 on tongue mid point by spectrometry:compared with Yin Lian Han Shu Ye group, the SpO2 of Kou Jie Shu group patients' tongue mid points gets higher after treated (p<0.05)Conclusions:1. The visible reflection spectrometry can used for different tongue pictures' classification and quantization. Different tongue pictures act as different spectroscopy curves.2. Compared with other two groups, the patients' symptom relieved, spectroscopy curve changes and SpO2 in tongue mid points of Kou Jie Shu out-patient group are obviously, it indicates that Kou Jie Shu can promote the clinic effect. Symptom relieved is in accord with the spectrometry data changes, it shows the visible reflection spectrometry can become a good method to access the clinic effect.
