Aim: Tongue diagnosis is a distinguishing feature in syndrome differentiation system of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which is one of the significant observing indicators and also one of the common methods for TCM clinicaJ doctors to differentiate syndromes. The objectificating research of tongue image is always in the ascendant and there appear abundant fruits with the development of science and technology. Digital image technology(Based on popularization , "digital" is used in the following paragraphs.) plays a more and more important role in the application of tongue image objectificating researches.The damp heat syndrome is a common type in the excess syndrome of the spleen and stomach, which has a higher incidence in the Lingnan area and is one of the important contents on TCM syndrome types. My mentor Professor Lao Shaoxian has been doing the research work on this area. He has got many achievements on probing into the pathological nature and the therapeutic principle from different aspects.Based on the above two, this research takes the objectificating intervening methods for digital tongue image forming as longitude, and the clinical observation of the damp heat syndrome in spleen and stomach as latitude, in comparison to the spleen deficiency and excess damp syndrome.1.The Literature ResearchFor a long time the tongue objectification has been researched in various ways in many fields and certain achievements are obtained. Especially in the recent decade, with the rising up of the digital technology, the control of various changeable values as well as the operation in tongue image objectification is more convenient. Tongue objectification has gradually madelong-term progress in this field. At present tongue image objectification research involves various fields, such as the standard observation pattern, color space, tongue image automatic diagnosis software. The research scope is big and also involves many subjects and specialties. The discussion of tongue image objectification research is comprehensive.2.The Control of Changeable Values During the Digital Tongue Image Catching zessThe light or the color temperature in the environment influences digital tongue image catching process. During the digital image forming time, the edition, the performance as well as the original factory setting value of photodiode sensor (CCD or CMOS), A/D (code transferring machine ) as well as MCU (microprocessor) also restrict it .In addition, lens optics aberration also influences the image formation. However, past research is defective. The key point in this research is as follows: using the CIE standard illumination and observation condition, match Nikon D70 DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) and Nikkor AF 24-85mm IF Micro lens in micro distance pattern photography to obtain the RAW form document. The aim is to correct and lessen the interferences on the authenticity of the tongue image in the original environment and camera, and make the tongue image more objective.3. Clinical ResearchThis paper emphatically discusses the objectification of digital tongue image catching process, anticipating to revert the collected images to a close real condition, i.e. to the initial state. With this method, 26 patients with damp heat syndrome of the spleen and stomach , in comparison to 28 patients with spleen deficiency with damp harassment syndrome , are observed in CMY> HSB and the change of lab color space. Results of Observation :After statistics analysis, tongue substance of the two groups in M, S, L, a of three color spaces component aspects have significant differences (M:p<0.01;S:p<0. 05;L:p<0. 05;a:p<0. 05). It indicates that Y component in damp heat syndrome of the spleen and stomach is obviously higher than that of spleen deficiency with damp harassment syndrome .The S value displaces to high degree of saturation and the a value to the red axis, but the L component in non-photography-degree of correlative space can be ignored;Tongue coating of two groups in Y, S, b of the three color spaces has significant differences (Y: p<0. 05, S: p<0.01, b:p<0.05). It suggests that Y component in damp heat syndrome of the spleen and stomach is obviously higher than that of spleen deficiency with damp harassment syndrome. The S value displaces to the high degree of saturation and the b value to the yellow axis, the observed results show that tongue image of two groups are consistent in the colorimetry change with the clinical observation.4 Conclusions and ForecastConclusion: According to the clinical research results, the image generation intervention method in this paper can basically return tongue image to original state. It has the feasibility in clinical observation application. Forecast: In future, study on objectif icating the sampl ing of color space method, and increasing the types of researching syndromes and cases will be continued. On this foundation, the indicator of tongue image observation, as well as tongue image analysis software or analyzer should be made.
