Statistics Measurement Of Foreign Trade Structure Promoting Industrial Sturcture Optimization In China

In opening economies, foreign trade has become an important outside factor duringa country’s economic development. China has become a great trading nation. If Chinawants to become a trade-power country, the trade structure need to be optimized.Meanwhile, China is being in a critical adjustment period of industrial structure. If thetrade structure can promote industrial structure effectively, it will have a very importantsignificance to China’s economic transformation.In the face of the situation with major adjustments of international situation and thenew normality of domestic economic adjustment, more and more scholars concernedinfluence mechanism between trade structure and industrial structure optimization inChina. Seen from the previous literature, their studies concerned more the influencerelationship and mechanism of foreign trade total to the economic growth in China. Inrecent years, more scholars concerned about the influence relationship and mechanismfrom the view of structural. Structure was divided into diversification. But selectedindex was single, measurement method was relatively simple. Especially a single indexwas often chosen to represent industrial structure optimization. Inconsistent conclusionswere got and bias. The paper divided systemically and comprehensively the differenttrade structure, measured changes of the different trade structure and industrial structure,and constructed industrial structure optimization indexs. the paper used statistical indexand econometric model, measured industrial structural change caused by different typesof trade structure changes, the optimized effect that was produced under differentobjectives and was analyzed comparatively. On this basis, by the use of simultaneousequations model, the paper studied empirically internal influence mechanism betweendifferent types of trade structure changes and the industrial structure optimization. Thisprovided empirical evidence how trade structure was adjusted to promote the industrialstructure optimization in China.The paper was divided into six chapters. The first chapter expounded the researchbackground and research significance, summarized literature of trade theory, industrialstructure theory and impact of trade structure on the industrial structure, researchmethods, innovation and so on.The second chapter was analyzed theoretically. Firstly, the paper defined the industrial structure optimization content, criteria and measurement methods. Secondly,the paper arranged the internal and external factors of the industrial structureoptimization. Thirdly, the influence mechanism of foreign trade structure changes on theindustrial structure optimization was theoretically analyzed, This provides a solidtheoretical foundation for the next study.The third chapter measured industrial structure changes caused trade structurechanges. Firstly, the paper introduced the derivation process that trade structure changepromoted industrial structure changes. Secondly, Canberra-distance method was adaptedto measure changes comprehensively about the change degree of different type of tradestructure and industrial structure in China. Thirdly, the influence relationship of tradestructural changes to the industrial structure changes was analyzed empirically fromcomprehensive and internal view. The result was obtained that four types of tradestructure change had a significant impact on the industrial structure changes bycorrelation analysis and causal analysis. The values which trade structure changesaffected the industrial structure comprehensive and respective changes were obtainedfatherly through the use of state-space model. These indicated the degree of influencewas different, which impacted on agriculture, industry changes in a larger proportion, onthe transport, storage and postal services, finance and insurance in a smaller proportion,and real estate and other industry impact was not significantThe fourth chapter measured industrial structure optimization effect causeddifferent types foreign tradestructure changes in China. Firstly, the paper constructedmeasure system of industrial structure optimization under four goals of improvingeconomic efficiency, promoting employment, adapting to changes in demand andmaking full use of resources, and introduced derivation process. Secondly, based onfour types of trade structures changes caused the change values of each industryproportion in the third chapter, according to measure system of industrial structureoptimization, the optimization effects of four types trade structure change weremeasured under four goals. Thirdly, in order to facilitate to show the role ofoptimization effect of industrial structure caused by trade structure change in theprocess of China’s industrial structure optimization, Chinese industrial structureoptimization was also multidimensionally measured. Fourthly, industrial structureoptimizations caused by the different trade structure changes were evaluatedcomparatively. The results showed that the impact effect of the different types of tradestructure changes to industrial structure optimization was different. In a word, optimization effect of import trade structure change was greater than export tradestructure change.The fifth chapter empirically studied mechanism that different types of foreigntrade structure changes influenced the industrial structure optimization in China. Fromthe commodity structure, mode structure, technical level commodity structure andpattern structure changes, the paper adoped SUR estimation method of simultaneousequations model, analyzed empirically that trade structure change impacted industrialstructure optimization through capital accumulation, technological spillover anddemand structural changes. The results showed that the effect mechanism is differentthat four types of trade structure changes influenced the industrial structure optimization,where imported technical level commodity structure changes was the most significantthrough capital accumulation, technology spillover and demand structural changes.The sixth chapter got some main conclusions and proposed policy suggestions:Firstly, Improve the technical level of industrial products and broaden the types ofindustrial products; Secondly, increase steadily the proportion of general trade; Thirdly,control share of labor-intensive goods trade and increase share of technology-intensivegoods trade; Fourthly, expand differentiation of trade product to promote thetransformation of trade patterns structure; Fifthly, improve security system of foreigntrade that trade structure change promote industrial structure optimization.
