Data base of viral myocarditis(VMC) was established on the basis of documents analyzing and dynamic observation to 201 clinical case of VMC.Evolution law of syndromes in VMC were studied by using Data Mining methods ,such as frequency counts, clustering analysis, cross-tab analysis, transition probability matrix and constituent ratio. The conclusions were drew that: 1.There are 8 syndrome-types in VMC ,including toxic heat syndrome, pectoral qi collapse syndrome, accumulation of phlegm in the heart syndrome, deficiency of qi and blood in the heart and spleen syndrome, deficiency of qi and yin syndrome ,blood stasis in the heart syndrome, hyperactivity of fire due to yin deficiency syndrome, deficiency of yin and yang syndrome.2.In the acute stage, toxic heat syndrome and deficiency of qi and yin syndrome are common types. In the prolonged stage , the common syndromes are pectoral qi collapse syndrome and deficiency of qi and yin syndrome . In the chronic stage, the common syndromes are pectoral qi collapse syndrome and blood stasis in the heart syndrome. 3. Evolution law of syndromes in VMC: Syndrome of toxic heat in the acute stage would involve to pectoral qi collapse syndrome and blood stasis in the heart syndrome in the prolonged and chronic stage. Syndrome of damp - heat accumulated in the heart and the spleen in the acute stage would involve to syndrome of phlegm accumulated in the heart and syndrome of deficiency of qi and blood in the heart and spleen in the prolonged stage. Syndrome of damp—heat accumulated in the heart and the spleen in the acute stage would involve to pectoral qi collapse syndrome and deficiency of qi and blood in the heart and spleen syndrome in thechronic stage. Syndrome of deficiency of qi and yin in the early stage would involve to pectoral qi collapse syndrome or remained the original syndrome in the prolonged stage and would involve to syndrome of blood stasis in the heart and pectoral qi collapse syndrome in the chronic stage.
