Since the level of radiated noise of submarines become lower and lower each year, traditional methods for submarine detection had lost their efficiency, all countries with noticeable navy force has drawn unprecedented attention on development of highly-sensitive technology and new method for submarine detection, basing on new principle, new technology and new techniques. Traditional technique used in sonar design had employed array composed by scalar hydrophones, which can only give the sound pressure at receiving position, and could not thoroughly get all informations about sound field. The application of vector hydrophone endows several advantages for detection of submarines through array technology: It can obtain both the sound pressure and particle velocity of sound field simultaneously, and effectively reduce received intensity of isotropic hindrance, and array composed by vector hydrophones can work at low frequency with relatively small dimension to distinguish the intensities and DOA's of distant mutually independent sources by specific processing algorithm. Many works have been done about vector hydrophone much earlier abroad, and now it had been widely applied in various cases. In order to solve the problem of silent submarine detection, nowadays following topics have been attached importance to researches about design of vector hydrophone:(1) High sensitivity;(2) Ultra-low-frequency detection;(3) Miniaturization of vector hydrophone;(4) Self-noise control.Above problems require development of new sensor technology based on MEMS technology, optic detection technology, integration technology etc., and be finally solved in sonar design with the help of data integration technology. In this thesis design & production of vector hydrophone by means of theory of piezoresistive effect and MEMS technology had been proposed, it is desirable that the application of piezoresistive effect may improve the low-frequency sensitivity of vector hydrophone as well as its miniaturization.In respect of the manner of vibration picking, vector hydrophones can be...
