Objectives To investigate the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits and analyze the related influencing factors.This study will provide basis and evidence for the nursing management and education to improve the low seniority nurses' positive professional emotion.Methods 1 This is a cross-sectional study adopted cluster sampling strategy.Total of 537 low-seniority clinical nurses were selected from three tertiary hospitals in and surveyed with seven questionnaires including the Nurses' Perceived Professional Benefits questionnaire,Psychological Capital Questionnaire,Professional Self-Concept of Nurses Instrument,U-trecht Work Engagement Scale,Family Concern Index Questionnaire,Practice Environment Scale,and Social Support Rating Scale.2 The data were collected including the participants' 1)the level of their perceived professional benefits;2)general information such as gender,age,initial education degree,staffing,monthly income,marital and children status;3)the personal factors such as psychological capital,nurses' professional self-concept,and self-induction work engagement;4)the family factors such as the family function and the family's recognition on the nursing work;5)the social factors such as self-perceived nursing practice environment,the influence of the hospital training and examination,the satisfaction to the career development plans,the satisfaction with the performance plan to adapt to the reform,self-induction contradiction between nurses and patients,and the degree of social support.3 All the data were recorded in the Excel software and the database was set up SPSS17.0 was used for the data analysis.The statistical description was showed with the form of mean±standard deviation(sx ±).T test and variance analysis were adopted in single factor analysis,meanwhile multivariate stepwise linear regression analysis was used in multiple factors analysis.Results 1 The total score of the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits was at a medium level with(112.7±25.66).Among five dimensions,the highest score came from self-growth dimension,while the dimension of positive professional emotion scored lowest.2 The single factor analysis demonstrated that: 1)in general factors,the monthly income and initial education degree were identified to be related with the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits(P<0.05),while gender,age,staffing,marital and children status were not associated with it(P>0.05);2)in the aspect of personal factors,psychological capital,nurses' professional self-concept,and self-inductance work engagement were showed strong relationship with the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits(P<0.05);3)in the family factors,the family function,family's recognition on the nursing work were justified to associate with the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits(P<0.05);4)in the social factors,nursing practice environment,the influence of the hospital training and examination,the career development plans satisfaction,the satisfaction with the performance plan to adapt to the reform,self-induction contradiction between nurses and patients,and the degree of social support were evaluated to relate with the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits(P<0.05).3 Multi-factor analysis demonstrated that the low seniority nurses' perceived professional benefits were influenced by the satisfaction with the performance plan to adapt to the reform,the psychological capital,the family function,monthly income,the nurses' professional self-concept,self-inductance work engagement,the influence of the hospital training and examination,self-perceived nursing practice environment,the career development plans satisfaction,and the degree of social support(P<0.05).Conclusions 1 The perceived professional benefits of the participated low-seniority nurses were at a moderate level.2 The influencing factors include the satisfaction with the performance plan to adapt to the reform,the psychological capital,the family function,monthly income,the nurses' professional self-concept,self-inductance work engagement,the influence of the hospital training and examination,self-perceived nursing practice environment,the career development plans satisfaction,and the degree of social support.
