Objective To investigate the influence of electroacupuncture at the balance area therapy on balance function walking ability and actinities of daily living of stroke patients.Methods 100 stroke patients were assigned randomly to the treatment group and control group with 50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with traditional puncture and balance training;the treatment group was added with electroacupuncture at the balance area therapy. All patients in the two groups were assessed with Berg Balance Scale(BBS);Sheikh;Holden FAC;Fugl-Meyer; Barthel (BI) at the time of beginning and after 4 week-therapy and 8 week-therapy. All the data was processed through the software SPSS17.0.Result1.There is no statistical difference (P> 0.05) of balance function walking ability and activities of daily living between the treatment group and the control group before treatment.2.There is a significant improvement (P<0.01) of balance function walking ability and activities of daily living both in the treatment group and the control group before and after 4 week-therapy and after 8 week-therapy.3.After 4 week-therapy balance function walking ability and activities of daily living of patients in electroacupuncture at the balance area group had a significant improvement (P<0.05) when compared with control group.Conclusion1.Both traditional puncture and electroacupuncture at the balance area can distinctly improve the balance function walking ability and activities of daily living for patients after stroke.2.After 4 week-therapy balance function walking ability and activities of daily living of patients in electroacupuncture at the balance area group had a significant improvement when compared with control group,even better shorten the course of disease.
