Objective To investigate the effect of MOTOmed Movement Therapy System on balance function and activities of daily living(ADL)of stroke patients with hemiplegia at convalescent period..Methods 40 patients with hemiplegia after stroke were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 20 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine rehabilitation training; the treatment group was added with MOTOmed Movement Therapy System training.All patients in the two groups were assessed with Berg Balance Scale(BBS), and the activities of daily living (BI) at the time of beginning and after 6 weeks. All the data was processed through the software SPSS13.0.Resultsâ‘ There is a no statistical difference ( P > 0.05 ) of balance function and activities of daily living between the treatment group and the control group before treatment.â‘¡There is a significant improvement ( P <0.05 ) of balance function and activities of daily living both in the treatment group and the control group before and after training period.â‘¢There is a significant difference ( P <0.05 ) of balance function and activities of daily living between the treatment group and the control group after 6 weeks'treatment. â‘£Positive correlation was found between balance function and activities of daily living between the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment.Conclusionâ‘ The routine rehabilitation training combined with the application of MOTOmed Movement Therapy System can distinctly improve the balance function and activities of daily living for patients after stroke,But the latter is better than the former.â‘¡There were significant relationships between balance function and activities of daily living of the stroke patients. It indicated that the improvement of balance function is benefit to activities of daily living of stroke patients.
