Humanistic quality is the individual’s internal quality that is integrated by a variety offactors including knowledge, capability, conception and emotions, with expression aspersonality, temperament and self-cultivation of an individual. Humanity is people-orientedvalue, acknowledging the human values, stressing the status and dignity of the people andadvocate the personality development in ideas, thoughts and theories. Humanistic qualitiesinclude cultural qualities, namely language proficiency, literary and artisticaccomplishments, historical and philosophical accomplishments, ethics and moralcultivation and civilized manners cultivation, etc. Specialist nurse is the expert in clinicalnurses, with higher levels and expertise in a particular or specialized nursing field. Theformation and the establishment of the role of specialist nurse is a sign of professionaldevelopment of nursing. Their role and function are mainly reflected in six fields, ie,clinical expert, researcher, consultant, teacher or educator, clinical leader and change agent.Specialist nurse can provide holistic care model and is the powerful assist of the doctors.With change of the medical model, the combination of medicine with natural sciencesand with social and human sciences is deepening, the specialization development of nurse isincreasingly evident. Emergency and critical care nursing (EMECC) is an important part ofnursing, even irreplaceable in some sense. The nurses not only have superb professionalskills, but also can deliberately deal with the complex environment of the EMECC, build aharmonious doctor-patient relationship, focus on the patient feeling of emergency care andmeet the emergency care needs of the patient. In the meantime, the EMECC nurses musthave capabilities including use of a variety of treatment equipments and intensive caretechniques, data analysis, rapid response, comprehensive judgment and accurate and rapiddisposal. Due to the special service object, EMECC environment and job responsibilities, the study on humanistic quality and cultivation ways of EMECC nurses is of particularimportance.In this study, the literature retrieval, expert consultation and questionnaire surveycombined with nurse requirements and job characteristics, the questionnaire on humanisticquality self-assessment and humanistic quality requirements was constructed to survey thespecialist nurses. The self-assessment questionnaire included professional accomplishmentand legal quality, and the humanistic quality requirements questionnaire covered10aspects(60specific levels) including specialist disposal, professional image, service quality,EMECC demands, communication skills, injury consciousness and team building. Theresults showed that the specialist nurses have generally low humanistic quality and highdegree of self-training requirements, with different characteristics with seniority. Thus, incombination with job characteristics, service demand and situation of specialist nurse team,the author explores to establish a new model of the humane quality education in theEMECC nurses. First, the progressive and hierarchical management training mode wasaccepted to determine the research content and hierarchical education assessment byestablishing appraisal standards in aspects of specialist care, key care aspects,communication skills and professionalism. The second is the use of self-motivation andconstruction of supportive environment including seminars and special events carrier toenhance career awareness, professionalism and comprehensive quality of EMECC nursesby forming regulations. Construction and Analysis of Connotation Elements of CoreCompetence for Emergency Nurses’ Humanity Quality.Objective: Through constructingconnotation elements of core competence for emergency nurses’ humanity quality, toprovide the basis for analyzing core competence for emergency nurses’ humanityquality.Methods: By means of Delphi method to develop the evaluation index system ofcore competence for emergency nurses’ humanity quality, and to determine the indicatorsof subjective weights on the basis of carrying out the empirical research. The status of corecompetence for emergency nurses’ humanity quality is analyzed with variance analysismethod. Result: Establishing the evaluation index system of core competence foremergency nurses’ humanity quality included of7primary indicators which include moralquality, faith quality, cultural quality, aesthgtic quality, intellectual quality, mental qualityand legal quality.17secondary indicaters and48three grade indicators, and endow the al1 indicators with weights. The results of the affecting factors analysis of the core competencefor emergency nurses’ humanity quality show that, in addition to scores of “the income pera month” is significantly differences among others groups, and there are significantlydifferences among the status of married in the scores of core competence for emergencynurses’ humanity quality. The scores among other different dimensions have no significantdifference. Conclusion: The evaluation index system and connotation elements can reflectthe characteristics of core competence for emergency nurses’ humanity in severaldimensions, and they will be one of the important basis of research on nurse humanity infuture.Based on the demand for medical services, strengthening the study on humanisticquality construction and cultivation ways to comply with the trends of the disciplinarydevelopment can help calmly deal with the complex EMECC environment, build aharmonious nurse-patient relationship, increase team efficiency and service levels andpromote the advancement of the nursing discipline.
