ObjectiveTo describe the burden and anxiety of the caregivers of hip fracture (femoral neck fractureand intertrochanteric fracture) in hospitalized patients and analyze its important influencingfactors.Comparison of femoral neck fractures and intertrochanteric fractures hospitalizedpatients with primary caregivers burden.MethodsThis study used descriptive research method. Collected in May2011to December2011,Shanxi Medical University, Second Clinical Hospital orthopedic hospital meet the inclusioncriteria of hip fracture patients and their primary caregivers of174cases, the use of self-designedquestionnaire of the hip fracture of the general information of the patient’s primary caregiversurvey; Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI) to investigate the burden of the primary caregiver;self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) whether the primary caregiver anxiety and the anxiety level toinvestigate the activities of daily living scale (ADL) self-care ability of patients to investigate. Touse spss16.0for statistical analysis, ANOVA analysis to compare the variables and caregiverburden, multiple linear regression analysis to identify important factors for caregiver burden, using pearson correlation analysis to the main caregiver burden and anxiety-related using t-test tocompare the two fracture caregiver burden differences.Results(1) A total of174patients with hip fracture. The majority of patients had FNF96(55.17%)and78(44.83%)were diagnosed with ITF.The average age was57.12(SD=19.69).Of174primarycaregivers,63were men(36.21%)and111were women (63.79%);The average age was43.79(SD=11.71).(2)98.3%primary caregivers complained burden and the mean score of CBI in Chinesecaregivers was36.26±6.86.The time burden was heavier than the development burden, thephysical burden, the social burden and the emotional burden.60.92%of the caregivers ofanxiety.(3) Multiple linear regression analysis results show that the following five important factorsfor caregiver burden: caregivers of their own health, past history of patients, caregivers familyincome, method of payment, the anxiety of the caregivers. The five factors explained41.7%ofthe total variance. The primary caregiver anxiety, important factors are the following: primary caregivers culture, whether living and patient, the patient self-care ability, age of patients. Thefour factors can explain59%of the total variance.(4) The Pearson correlation analysis showed that: the burden of the primary caregiver andcaregiver anxiety was positively correlated.(5) Femoral neck fracture burden of the primary caregivers in hospitalized patients is lessthan intertrochanteric fracture of hospitalized patients to the main caregiver burden.Conclusions(1) Health care professionals should pay close attention to and assess the burden and thecompetencies of the caregivers of hip fracture patients, and provide continuous individualizednursing services in hospital, and thereby to promote the caregivers’ competencies, relieve theirburden and promote the recovery of patients.(2) The department should according to their actual situation, pay particular attention to thenursing workforce equipped and rational utilization of appropriate adjustments to the sections ofthe care system, a clear nursing duties, to enable nurses to better guide the caregiver to take careof patients, for patients after discharge to provide continuous, effective taken care to lay a solidfoundation.
