Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the burden of family caregivers of patients with diabetic foot and analyzed the influencing factors of their caregivers’ burden,so as to provide enlightenment for clinical nurses and provide theoretical basis for seeking effective intervention measures. Methods:Family caregivers of patients with diabetic foot who met the research criteria were selected as the subjects by convenience sampling method from September 2019 to January 2021,who were hospitalized or treated as outpatients in Grade A hospital of Shenyang. The social demographic data of the caregivers and patients and the disease characteristics of the patients were surveyed by general information questionnaire, the family burden of the disease of the caregivers of diabetic foot patients were surveyed by family burden scale of disease(FBS),the illnes uncertainty of the families of diabetic foot patients were surveyed by Mishel uncertainty in illness scale-family member form(MUIS-FM)and the coping styles of the caregiverswere surveyed by Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire. All investigations are completed by subject investigation team members with unified training.SPSS22.0 was used to complete data entry and analysis, counting data were described by frequency and percentage, measurement data conforming to normal distribution were described by (?)±s,the correlation was measured by person correlation, single factor analysis using t-test and variance analysis, multivariate stepwise linear regression was used for multivariate analysis.P< 0.05 was statistically significant.Results:1.A total of 144 family caregivers of diabetic foot patients were included in this study. The effective recovery rate of the questionnaire was 98%.The total standardized score of FBS was(0.88 ± 0.45).The standardized score and positive response rate of each dimension were family daily activities(0.94 ± 0.50)96.5%;Family recreational activities(0.98 ± 0.53)95.8%;Economic burden(1.08 ± 0.54)95.1%;The physical health of family members(0.92±0.67)76.4%;Mental health of family members(0.70±0.56)75.7%;Family relationship(0.54 ± 0.53)71.5%.2.In this study, the total standardized score of MUIS-FM was(2.88 ± 0.50),The standardized score of each dimension were unpredictability(3.15±0.67);uncertainty(3.09±0.63);complexity(2.53±0.57);information deficiency(2.66±0.49).Positive coping style score was(1.82±0.61),negative coping style score was(1.59±0.59).3.There was a positive correlation between family burden of disease and uncertainty of family members of diabetic foot(r=0.552,P<0.01),and the family burden of disease and the uncertainty of disease family members were positively correlated with negative coping(r=0.257,P<0.01)(r=0.301,P<0.01)and were negatively correlated with positive coping(r=-0.272,P<0.01)(r=-0.465,P<0.01).4.Single factor analysis results showed that different patients with diabetic foot grading, wound duration, whether in the hospital, patient Barthel index, other diabetes complications, the working condition of caregivers, caregivers, family income per capita, caregivers whether suffering from chronic diseases, the daily care of the patients with diabetic foot long burden of family caregivers to take care of the score difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).5.Multivariate analysis showed that the grade of diabetic foot, wound duration, the number of other diabetic complications, caregivers with chronic disease, caregivers without jobs, and disease uncertainty were the influencing factors of caregivers’ burden.Conclusion:1.The family caregivers of diabetic foot patients have moderate to severe care burden, especially the patients with severe diabetic foot disease, long wound duration, more complications of other diabetes, and caregivers with chronic diseases, unemployment, and high disease uncertainty.2.The caregivers of diabetic foot patients generally have a higher sense of disease uncertainty, and the higher the sense of disease uncertainty of the caregivers, the heavier the burden of the caregivers.3.The caregivers of diabetic foot patients tend to adopt positive coping style. The more positive they are,the lighter the caregivers’ burden will be.The more negative they are,the heavier the caregivers’ burden will be.
