Objective To investigate the level of the burden of the caregivers of patients after craniotomy, and to explore its influencing factors,so as to provide theoretical basis for the intervention of the burden of the caregivers. Methods In this study, the caregivers of 346 patients after craniotomy from a grade-A hospital of third class in Beijing and a grade-A hospital of second class in a county in Anhui Province From January 2017 to september 2017 who met the inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria as the research object with the convenient sampling method, were investigated with Caregiver Burden Inventory(CBI),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)and self-prepared answer sheet for patients after craniotomy and their caregivers.Epi Data 3.1 software was used to establish the database and SPSS17.0software was used to analyze the data. The general data of patients and their caregivers were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage. The data of care burden, social support of the caregivers in two hospitals were analyzed by t test.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between social support and care burden.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between general information of patients and caregivers and care burden.Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the burden of caregivers of patients after craniotomy. Results The total burden of caregivers for patients after craniotomy was(43.79±13.55).There was no significant difference(P>0.05)between the total burden of caregivers for patients after craniotomy in the grade-A hospital of third class(44.95±14.45)and that of caregivers after craniotomy in the grade-A hospital of second class(42.54±12.49).Thetotal score of social support of caregivers of patients after craniotomy was(39.84±7.08),which was significantly higher than that of domestic norms(34.56±3.73),(P<0.01).The factors influencing the burden of caregivers after craniotomy were as follows:self-care status of patients, social support, physical dysfunction, whether there are complications after after craniotomy, time spent caring for patients every day and gender of caregivers. The influencing factors of the burden of the caregivers after craniotomy in a grade-A hospitals of second class were as follows: self-care status of patients, physical dysfunction, time spent caring for patients every day, relationship between the caregivers and the patients. The influencing factors of the burden of the caregivers after craniotomy in a grade-A hospitals of third class were as follows: the mastery of postoperative nursing and rehabilitation of patients, social support, the form of medical payment, and whether there are complications after surgery. Conclusion The burden of caregivers after craniocerebral surgery is moderate.according to the degree of influence, the factors influencing the burden of caregivers after craniotomy were as follows: self-care status of patients, social support, physical dysfunction, whether there are complications after after craniotomy, time spent caring for patients every day and gender of caregivers. The influencing factors of the burden of the caregivers after craniotomy in a grade-A hospitals of second class were as follows:self-care status of patients, physical dysfunction, time spent caring for patients every day, relationship between the caregivers and the patients. The influencing factors of the burden of the caregivers after craniotomy in a grade-A hospitals of third class were as follows: the mastery of postoperative nursing and rehabilitation of patients, social support, the form of medical payment, and whether there are complications after surgery. Thus, even the same disease, the same research methods, different regions, different hospitals, the burden of caregivers are not the same factors.Although the caregiver has good subjective support, objective support and the utilization of support is low.Caregivers of patients after craniotomy are more likely to respond positively. There was no significant difference in the burden of caregivers among different hospitals in different regions and grades, but the influencing factors were different.
