A Case Study On Engineering Integration In Investment Enterprises For Dalian Port Container Company

With the deterioration of the economic environment, China's logistics industry has experienced increasing pressure. Due to the rapid development of the neighboring ports, Dalian Port's container industry has met a serious threat. In order to overcome challenges, Dalian Port Container Co., Ltd. started to invest in enterprise integration, which has intended to find internal potential improvements, reduce business operating costs, and increase the competitiveness. Dalian Port Container Co., Ltd. has developed the basic idea for integration and sub-step plan, and thus has required various functional departments to develop specific action plan. This thesis focuses on studying the integration of engineering management program of the company, which can provide theoretical support for the actual integration of the work.Based on internal and external environmental and economic circumstances faced by Dalian Port Container Co., Ltd, using three typical container terminal operators and technology companies as examples, this thesis examines reasons for the management model of engineering and technologies in the company, and then identifies related issues and according effects. Through related theories such as the design of the organizational structure of the relevant theory, resource sharing of relevant theory and incentive theory, this thesis analyzes the reasons for issues in detail, and then concludes integration is an imperative solution.First, this thesis briefly introduces integration ideas and sub-step plan in Dalian Port Container Co., Ltd., which leads to the preliminary pilot program for engineering and technical integration with proposed long-term goals of technology integration projects and action plans. A concrete analysis of engineering and technical integration solutions on how to solve the existing problems is followed by an analysis on difficulties and obstacles that may exist. According to the real work, with the goals of lower costs and higher efficiency, this thesis conducts a detailed analysis on measures through the integration of engineering technology program taken by Dalian Port Container Co., Ltd. consolidation measures. The study on integration of engineering and technologies can benefit to realize overall strategic objectives, which provides the impetus for the Dalian Port Container industry to sustain in a competitive market environment.
