| Objectives To explore the status and influencing factors of marital quality and family function in psychiatric patients for formulating practicable family therapy program.Methods Self-made questionnaire,Olson Marital Quality Inventory and Family Assessment Device were administered to evaluate the condition of married patients,whoes psychosis symptom relieve,including 305 schizophrenics, 96 mood disorders and 201 neurosis patients.Results The results showed that the scores of marital satisfaction,character compatibility,communication between couples, the way of conflict resolution, economic arrangements, amateur life,sexual life,children and marriage, relationship with family and friends,the role of equality and belief consistency of the psychiatric patients were significantly lower than those of the healthy people(the t from -14.268 to -2.856,P<0.01 ).The total marital quality and total family function of the schizophrenia group were the poorest,and those of the mood disorders group were secondly poorer,and those of the neurosis patients group were a little better than those of the other two groups ,which all showed significant difference(the t from 2.320 to 15.716,P<0.05). The total marital quality and total family function of the city patients were better than those of village patients(t=4.787,-2.418, P<0.05). The total marital quality score of the unemployed group was lower than that of technician group, civil servant group,worker group and company staff group(P<0.05). The total marital quality score of civil servant group was higher than that of forestry and animal husbandry laborers group(P=0.037<0.05). The total family function score of civil servant group and company staff group was lower than that of the unemployed group(P<0.05).The total marital quality and total family function of 5 years disease course and below group were better than those of other year section groups(P<0.05). The total marital quality score of 5—10 years disease course group was higher than that of the above 20 years group (P<0.05).The total marital quality score of social charity group was higher than that of private expense group(P=0.047<0.05),and that of social charity group was higher than that of rural cooperative medical group(P=0.016<0.05).The total family function score of social charity group was lower than that of rural cooperative medical group(P=0.021<0.05). The total marital quality score of family average monthly income above 1300 yuan group was higher than that of income below 800 yuan group(P=0.000<0.01),and was higher than that of income of 800—1300 yuan group(P=0.000<0.01). The total family function score of monthly income above 1300 yuan group was lower than that of income below 800 yuan group (P=0.000<0.01), and was lower than that of income of 800—1300 yuan group (P=0.000<0.01). The total marital quality score of the above universities group was higher than that of primary school group,junior middle school group and polytechnic school group(P<0.01).On the total family function,there was no significant difference among different educational level patients(F=1.797,P=0.112 > 0.05). The total marital quality score of the joint residence with spouse and children group was higher than that of spouse group(P=0.040<0.05). The total family function score of the joint residence with spouse and children group was lower than that of parents and spouse group(P=0.026<0.05). The scores of the total marital quality,idealistic distortion,marital satisfaction,character compatibility,communication between couples,the way of conflict resolution, amateur life, children and marriage, the role of equality and belief consistency of male group were higher than those of female group(the t from 2.336 to 4.593,P<0.05).On the family function,there was no significant difference between the male group and the female group(the t from -1.771 to 1.026,P> 0.05).The marital quality and family function of negative family history group were better than those of positive family history group(the t from-4.674 to 5.886, P<0.05).The multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the main factors that affected marital quality were family average monthly income, disease sort,disease course, total family function and sex (t=4.564,7.414,-8.870,-14.466,-4.563,P<0.01).The main factors that affected total family function were disease sort and disease course(t=-16.495,8.310,P<0.01).Conclusion 1.The marital quality of the psychiatric patients was poorer than that of the healthy people. In the three groups of psychiatric patients,the marital quality of the schizophrenia was the poorest, and that of the mood disorders group was secondly poorer,and that of the neurosis patients group was a little better than that of the other two groups . 2. The total marital quality of high income was better than that of low income.The total family function of the schizophrenia group was the poorest,and that of the neurosis patients group was a little better than that of the other two groups.The total marital quality and total family function of the longer disease course group were the worse. 3. The total marital quality and total family function of the unemployed group were poorer than those of other occupation groups. The total marital quality of social charity group was better than that of private expense group. The total marital quality and total family function of higher family average monthly income were better. The total marital quality of the above universities group was better than that of the other educational level groups. On the total family function,there was no significant difference among different educational level patients . The total marital quality and total family function of the joint residence with spouse and children group were the best. 4 .The total marital quality and total family function of the city patients were better than those of village patients. The marital quality of the male group was better than that of the female group. The marital quality and family function of negative family history group were better than those of positive family history group.
