Research On The Impact Of Digital Transformation Of China’s Manufacturing Industry On Its International Competitiveness

Manufacturing industry is the foundation of national economy,and the emergence and continuous development of digital technology provide opportunities for the transformation and development of China’s manufacturing industry.Integrating digital technology into all aspects of manufacturing production,and using digital technology to carry out Digital transformation of manufacturing industry can continuously improve the production efficiency,product and service quality of China’s manufacturing industry,continuously expand the international market share,and thus enhance its international competitiveness.Firstly,based on the relevant theories of Digital transformation of manufacturing industry,this paper explains the connotation of Digital transformation of manufacturing industry,the characteristics of each stage of Digital transformation of manufacturing industry,the relevant factors affecting the international competitiveness of manufacturing industry,and the relationship between Digital transformation and the international competitiveness of manufacturing industry;Secondly,using the export value added of manufacturing industries and sub sectors in various countries in the OECD-TIVA database as the data source,and dividing China’s manufacturing industry as a whole into capital intensive manufacturing,labor intensive manufacturing,and technology intensive manufacturing,the digitalization level of China’s manufacturing industry and sub sectors is measured by the proportion of information and communication technology in the export value added of manufacturing industry,It also analyzes the current situation of Digital transformation of China’s manufacturing industry as a whole and its sub industries;At the same time,the international competitiveness level of China’s manufacturing industry and various factor intensive manufacturing industries was analyzed using the trade competitiveness index and market share index.The position of digitalization and international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry in the international landscape was analyzed,in order to comprehensively understand the comprehensive strength of digitalization and international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry.Thirdly,it analyzes how China’s Digital transformation affects international competitiveness from the perspective of products,enterprises and industries,analyzes the impact mechanism of Digital transformation on China’s manufacturing industry’s international competitiveness,and empirically tests whether China’s manufacturing industry’s Digital transformation has a positive effect on its international competitiveness,Digital transformation and upgrading can have a positive impact on the overall competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry and the international competitiveness of factor intensive manufacturing industry;Finally,taking Hikvision as an example,this paper analyzes the current situation and shortcomings of Digital transformation of Hikvision from a micro perspective,explains the characteristics of manufacturing enterprises in the process of Digital transformation,analyzes how Digital transformation affects the international competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises,and gives suggestions to improve the digital level and international competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises.The research results indicate that firstly,digitalization has improved the international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry as a whole,as well as labor-intensive,capital intensive,and technology intensive industries;Secondly,The digital development of various sub sectors of China’s manufacturing industry is uneven;Thirdly,Digital transformation can enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.Digitalization can reduce production costs,achieve optimal resource allocation,and meet diverse consumer needs through government support and assistance,foreign direct investment,technological advancement,and increased national income.This can enable enterprises to survive in fierce competition and enhance the overall international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry.In view of the above conclusions,this paper puts forward three suggestions for Digital transformation of China’s manufacturing industry: first,improve the construction of Digital transformation mechanism of manufacturing industry,and provide institutional guarantee for Digital transformation of manufacturing industry;Secondly,Strengthen the infrastructure construction of Digital transformation of manufacturing industry;Thirdly,Cultivate digital technical talents and provide intellectual security.
