With the rapid development of the global economy and the introduction of the concept of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility(CSR)is becoming an indispensable part of corporate production and operation. However,in China, research on CSR is still insufficient, and there is a lack of unified CSR evaluation standards and systems, which makes it difficult for companies to fulfill their social responsibilities. This is particularly important in the food industry, which is a crucial sector affecting national economy and people’s livelihoods, where CSR issues are particularly prominent.Currently, some food companies have begun to pay attention to CSR and have released CSR reports. However, there is a lack of a unified evaluation system for the performance of social responsibilities in food companies, which is an important problem that needs to be solved. Therefore,in order to promote the sustainable development of food companies,we need to combine the overall framework of the CSR evaluation system for enterprises and create a CSR performance evaluation index system that is suitable for food companies. This will better guide the production and operation activities of companies, improve their management level, and provide direction for their next development strategies. At the same time, based on the perspective of stakeholders, enterprise performance evaluation has become an important part of enterprise management, which can standardize, guide, and motivate enterprise management behavior, promote good interaction between enterprises and stakeholders, and achieve common development. The paper is based on the current research status of social responsibility performance both domestically and abroad.Relevant literature was collected and sorted to analyze the social responsibility performance score of New Hope Group, evaluate its social responsibility fulfillment, and provide suggestions for improvement.Firstly, the basic information of New Hope Group was introduced, and then a social responsibility evaluation system was established from six aspects: shareholders, creditors, employees, consumers, government, and environment, using multiple indicators.Through the entropy weight method, data was analyzed to assign weights to each indicator, and the optimal reference sequence was selected.Grey relational analysis was used to compare and analyze the weighted indicators with the reference sequence, and the scores were obtained. The ranking of New Hope Group’s social responsibility performance in each year was evaluated and analyzed.Furthermore, the scores were calculated based on the weights and grey relational coefficients in different dimensions of corporate social responsibility performance, and analyzed and evaluated accordingly.Suggestions were provided for improvement in various aspects, such as strengthening the awareness of social responsibility for all employees, enhancing profitability, and optimizing asset structure. In the study,it was found that the fulfillment of social responsibility varied in each year, with an overall improvement over time. However, there is still room for improvement in the fulfillment of social responsibility towards the government, creditors, and shareholders. The research result of the paper attempts to establish an evaluation system for social responsibility, which can provide some help for related researchers and promote the improvement of China’s social responsibility performance evaluation system.Secondly, the social responsibility fulfillment of New Hope Group was evaluated, and some suggestions were provided, including strengthening the awareness of social responsibility for all employees, enhancing profitability, and optimizing asset structure, which may be helpful.
