With the restructuring of the world economy, trade in services has become an important area of international economic cooperation and an important power source of world economic growth, occupying an increasingly important position in the economic activities of a country.Since the "One Belt,One Road" initiative was launched, trade exchanges between China and countries along the route have become increasingly frequent, and trade in services,as an important part of the "Belt and Road" cooperation, has developed well and has great potential for cooperation. However,in general, the competitiveness of service trade exports of countries along the "Belt and Road" is relatively low,and it is difficult to check and balance with developed countries. The rise of digital economy not only injects a strong impetus to the highquality development of bilateral service trade between China and countries and regions along the "Belt and Road",but also accelerates the economic development and infrastructure construction of countries along the "Belt and Road".Therefore,it is significant to discuss the impact of digital economy on the competitiveness of service trade exports, which can,on the one hand, promote the development of digital economy in the countries along the Belt and Road, and on the other hand, promote the development of service trade and optimize the service trade structure in the countries along the Belt and Road. This paper analyzes the impact of digital economy on the competitiveness of service trade exports of countries along the Belt and Road as a research perspective.Firstly, combining the digital economy empowerment theory and trade competitiveness theory, this paper explores the influence mechanism of digital economy on the export competitiveness of service trade from the demand-side perspective and supply-side perspective;secondly, based on the systematic research on the theoretical knowledge of digital economy and related measurement methods, and combining with the current level of development of digital economy,a comprehensive index system is established by principal component analysis, with emphasis on digital system and innovation environment, digital infrastructure construction, and digital information technology application. On this basis, this paper establishes a fixed-effects model to empirically test the impact of the development level of digital economy on the competitiveness of service trade exports of countries along the "Belt and Road" using panel data from 2010 to 2019.Finally,based on the results of the study, relevant policy recommendations are proposed for the development of digital economy and trade in services along the Belt and Road.Based on the above analysis, this paper mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)The level and speed of development of the digital economy of countries along the Belt and Road are very different, with serious imbalances, and the differences between different regions and different countries within the same region are also obvious,so there is a need to further strengthen international cooperation and construction.(2)The digital economy has a significant positive impact on the export competitiveness of service trade of countries along the "Belt and Road",and the size of the role played by different indicators varies;Meanwhile, the digital economy has a more obvious role in promoting the export competitiveness of low-income countries along the Belt and Road, followed by high-income countries.(3)The promotion effect of digital economy on the export competitiveness of service trade in different industries of countries along the Belt and Road differs significantly.Specifically, the digital economy has a stronger role in promoting the export competitiveness of traditional service trade,a weaker role in promoting the export competitiveness of modern service trade. |
