In recent years,with the deep integration of information technology and economic society,digital technology has played a more important and fundamental role in promoting agricultural modernization.The "Digital Economy" was first mentioned in the 2017 Government Work Report.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China also proposed the construction of a strong online country,a digital China,and a smart society.Since then,the report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the No.1 central document of the Central Committee in 2023 have clearly proposed to accelerate the development of digital economy,accelerate the construction and application of agricultural and rural Big data,accelerate the digital transformation of agricultural production,and promote the development of smart agriculture,providing programmatic policy documents for the application of digital technology in agricultural production.In this context,the rapid development of "Internet plus" and Big data technology has put forward higher requirements for traditional agriculture,and promoting Digital transformation of agriculture has become an inevitable choice for agricultural modernization.Since the reform and opening up,with the continuous acceleration of industrialization and urbanization,the large-scale transfer of rural labor has become an important factor affecting China’s agricultural production.Therefore,this paper puts the digital economy,rural labor transfer and agricultural Total factor productivity in the same research framework,discusses the impact of digital economy and rural labor transfer on agricultural Total factor productivity,which has important practical significance for exploring ways to promote agricultural Total factor productivity.This paper uses DEA Malmquist index method and entropy method to measure the development level of agricultural and rural digital economy and agricultural Total factor productivity in 31 provinces and cities in China from2014 to 2020.Then,it empirically analyzes the mechanism between digital economy,rural labor transfer and agricultural Total factor productivity by building a dynamic panel model,using the Mesomeric effect model and the regulatory effect model.The main conclusions are as follows: First,the digital economy has a significant role in promoting agricultural Total factor productivity.Second,the transfer of rural labor has significantly inhibited the improvement of agricultural Total factor productivity.Third,the digital economy can inhibit agricultural Total factor productivity by promoting the transfer of rural labor force.Fourth,the transfer of rural labor can promote the improvement of agricultural Total factor productivity by promoting the development of the digital economy.Fifth,the transfer of rural labor will inhibit the role of digital economy in promoting agricultural Total factor productivity.
