| With the Silk Road Economic Belt in the north and the new Western Land and Sea Corridor in the south,synergistically connecting to the Yangtze River Economic Belt,the western region,as a bridge and hub linking China to many of its neighbours,has seen a continuous improvement in the environment for the development of its logistics industry.Since the implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative,the economic and trade exchanges between China and the countries along the route have been increasing,and the development environment of the logistics industry in the western region has been further improved.The logistics industry in the western region has shown a spatial agglomeration,but there are large disparities and uneven development between provinces and municipalities.The study of logistics industry agglomeration and logistics efficiency in each province and city,and the impact of logistics industry agglomeration on logistics efficiency will be beneficial to the planning and layout of logistics industry.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the agglomeration of logistics industry in the western region and its impact on logistics efficiency.This paper takes the current situation of logistics industry agglomeration and logistics efficiency in the western region as an entry point to explore the impact of logistics industry agglomeration on logistics effciency.Based on the panel data of 12 provinces and cities in the western region from 2010 to 2020,the logistics industry agglomeration and logistics efficiency of each province and city are measured using the locational entropy method and the Super-SBM model,aiming to explore the development status of the logistics industry and the inter-regional diffcrences of each province and city in western China,and combine them with spatial factors to construct a spatial Durbin model to study the agglomeration of the logistics industry and logistics efficiency The study aims to investigate the spatial correlation between logistics industry agglomeration and logistics efficiency,and then explore the influence of logistics industry agglomeration on logistics efficiency.The results of the study show that:Logistics industry agglomeration and logistics efficiency in the western region show obvious spatial imbalance and significant regional differences;logistics industry agglomeration positively affects the logistics efficiency of the region,the higher the logistics industry agglomeration,the higher the logistics efficiency of the region;the spatial spillover effect of logistics industry agglomeration is very significant,indicating that logistics industry agglomeration can not only promote the logistics efficiency of the region,but also promote the logistics efficiency of neighbouring provinces;economic level,industrialisation process and opening up to the outside world can improve logistics efficiency.This paper examines the current situation of logistics industry agglomeration,logistics efficiency and the impact of logistics industry agglomeration on logistics efficiency in the western region,which can provide a useful reference for the rational planning of the logistics industry in the western region and the appropriate enhancement of logistics industry agglomeration to further promote economic development. |
