With economic and social development,The aging of the population is getting worse, especially in rural areas.According to the results of the seventh national population census, the proportion of the elderly aged 60 and above in rural China was 23.81% and the proportion of the elderly aged 65 and above was 17.72% at 0:00 on November 1,2020.The aging of the rural population is a prominent problem that needs to be solved urgently. At the same time, with the development of urbanization and industrialization, rural family pension tends to be weakened and absent, while institutional pension and community pension are underdeveloped in underdeveloped rural areas, leading to the lack of daily care and spiritual comfort for the elderly in rural areas. In addition, the aging of rural areas in underdeveloped areas is different from that in developed areas. As a result, the elderly in rural areas in underdeveloped areas do not have medical treatment when they are sick and do not have nursing institutions. On the basis of the above, the study on participation intention and influencing factors of rural mutual support for the aged in underdeveloped areas can provide a theoretical basis for the development of mutual support for the aged suitable for the rural soil culture in underdeveloped areas,so as to promote the development of rural mutual support for the aged in underdeveloped areas. In view of this, the paper takes the middle-aged and elderly people aged50 or above in the rural areas of X District,X City as the research object, adopts the structured interview method to investigate 365 middle-aged and elderly people, and analyzes the willingness and influencing factors of participation in the rural mutual support for the aged in the underdeveloped areas through the Chi-square test and the binary Logistic regression model. The findings are as follows: first, the elderly in rural areas in underdeveloped areas have a high degree of recognition of mutual support for the elderly, and are willing to try, which further enhances the possibility of promoting mutual support for the elderly in rural areas in underdeveloped areas;Second,in the process of analyzing the six aspects of participation intention, individual characteristics, family situation, economic situation, behavioral cognition and social support,we learned that there are differences in some indicators between hilly streets(towns)and plain streets(towns)in the mountains.Third, gender, frequency of children’s visits, the biggest difficulties in life, the best way to support the elderly, and who to turn to for help will have a significant impact on the willingness to participate in mutual support for the elderly.Under the other conditions unchanged, the elderly who are male, have low frequency of visits from their children, are in poor physical condition, think that the best way to care for the elderly is mutual care and other ways, and have difficulty in seeking help from others other than their spouses, children, relatives and neighbors(themselves, government officials, village officials)are more willing to participate in mutual care for the elderly. Finally, based on the findings of the study, suggestions are put forward to promote the development of mutual support for the aged in underdeveloped rural areas, such as expanding the publicity of mutual support for the aged, giving play to the leading role of grassroots organizations and strengthening the collective economy of villages,so as to provide reference for the development of mutual support for the aged in underdeveloped rural areas. |
