In the era of the digital economy,the global digital transformation relies on new information technologies that include the Internet,artificial intelligence,big data and cloud computing,which has promoted a new round of industrial transformation and brought development opportunities to many traditional industries.Although the digital transformation has changed the business model of manufacturing enterprises,many companies still have the weak foundation of the information infrastructure and digital transformation.Those companies have not achieved significant operating benefits when they increase the digital investment.How to improve the performance of manufacturing companies by digital transformation which can be represented by Haier Smart Home is the main issue of this paper.Therefore,this paper selects Haier Smart Home a home appliance company whose digital transformation has reached maturity,and explores the impact of its digital transformation on corporate performance from the perspective of value chain.This paper reviews relevant literature and based on the value chain theory,the process reengineering theory,the organizational change theory and the balanced scorecard theory in order to construct the impact mechanism of digital transformation on enterprise performance: Firstly,the R&D Innovation in the R&D link of value chain makes the R&D technology continuously updated,which affects the enterprise performance.Secondly,the smart manufacturing in the production link of value chain is beneficial for the company to improve the product quality.Finally the digital marketing in the sales link of value chain rebuilds the marketing model of the company and improves the enterprise performance.Then this paper introduces the development strategy and transformation motivation of Haier Smart Home and summarize the development status and financial status of the company’s digital transformation.This paper is based on the impact mechanism to analyze the impact of enterprise performance path by Haier Smart Home’s digital transformation and evaluate the effect of impact of the path.The result shows that the digital innovation efficiency of R&D chain has been greatly improved 62.81% by increasing R&D Investment and cultivating R&D talents.The company’s value chain production link improves production efficiency by intelligent manufacturing,however,the inventory turnover ratio decreased from 17.52% in 2010 to 4.52% in 2021,indicating that inventory turnover still needs to be improved.The market share and sales revenue of the company’s value chain sales link present the rising tendency,in 2021 the market shares of refrigerators and washing machines respectively reached 41.30% and43.50%.The operating income has also reached the highest with 227.56 billion yuan in the past decade.Then this paper uses Analytic Hierarchy Process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to quantitatively study enterprise performance,and make comparative analysis of Haier Smart Home Changhong Meiling,a comparable company in the same industry that based on the evaluation results of enterprise performance.Finally,this paper proposes optimization measures for various impact paths.Firstly,the company should strengthen the core technology and R&D capabilities of products,then enhance the integration of Open innovation resources.Secondly,the mass customization model needs to be promoted and the overall digital awareness of staff should be improved.Finally,the level of accounts receivable management needs to be enhanced take reasonable means of promotion.The contribution of this paper is to study the impact of digital transformation on enterprise performance from the perspective of value chain,and analyze the specific path of digital transformation on the performance of manufacturing companies.It extends the theoretical research on digital transformation and enterprise performance.Based on the impact of Haier Smart Home’s digital transformation on enterprise performance,this paper puts forward some optimization measures,in order to provide reference for other similar companies to implement digital transformation. |
