In recent years, with the innovative development of information and communication technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, the impact and scope of digital means have never been greater. The world is undergoing the restructuring of digital factor resources, and the digital economy has become a key force in changing global competition and is also driving profound changes in international trade.Previous studies have shown that the application of digital technology has shortened the intermediate stages of international trade, reduced the cost of international trade, lowered the entry threshold for international trade, increased the richness of international trade products, and promoted the development of international trade.Based on existing research, this article further delves into the study of how the digital economy affects export trade, and introduces the degree of spatial agglomeration of the digital economy to consider how the spatial imbalance of digital economy development affects export trade development. The specific research content includes three aspects:Firstly, the measurement and current situation analysis of relevant variables.Drawing on existing research, divide the digital economy into internet development and digital finance for measurement, and further use spatial Gini coefficient to measure and decompose the degree of spatial agglomeration of the digital economy. After measuring the digital economy and its spatial agglomeration, analyze its center of gravity transfer, spatial distribution pattern, spatial agglomeration, and spatial imbalance.Overall, the overall scale of China’s digital economy is showing an upward trend, while the degree of spatial agglomeration of the digital economy is decreasing. From the perspective of spatial geography, cities with developed digital economy are mainly concentrated in the eastern region, and exhibit a decreasing trend from east to west and from south to north.Secondly, theoretical impact mechanism analysis. To strengthen theoretical support, this article explores the mechanism of the digital economy’s impact on export trade from a theoretical perspective, and further analyzes the threshold effect mechanism, regulatory threshold mechanism, and spatial spillover mechanism. After analysis,it can be seen that the digital economy has scale effects and network effects on export trade, and the "Merakav" rule of the Internet is also applicable to the impact of the digital economy on export trade.Digital technology breaks time and space constraints and promotes the development of export trade in surrounding areas through spatial spillover effects.Thirdly, empirical testing analysis. This article empirically tests the impact of digital economy and its spatial agglomeration on export trade. The conclusion is as follows: The digital economy significantly promotes the development of export trade, and the promoting effect presents a threshold effect of marginal increase, and a moderate spatial imbalance distribution of the digital economy can positively regulate this promoting effect. The study also found that the digital economy has a spatial Spillover effect on export trade, and the development of digital economy in surrounding areas can promote the development of local export trade and digital economy.Further introducing the threshold effect, the spatial Durbin model regression results show that a high-level digital economy has the strongest promoting effect on export trade, combining direct and indirect effects.
