Study On The Influence Of Digital Economy On Export Trade Quality

In recent years,the digital economy has swept the world,and the unprecedented development of digital technology has promoted the process of digital transformation in various fields of society and become a new leading force for high-quality economic development.Meanwhile promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy,creating digital industries and realizing industrial digitalization have become the current economic research themes.In this context,major countries around the world have put forward the strategy of "the fourth industrial revolution represented by smart manufacturing",with a view to driving the overall upgrading of the entire economy and society through smart production and smart consumption.China has also placed greater emphasis on the strategic role of the digital economy after the 18 th Party Congress.At present,the development of China’s foreign trade has changed from the stage of rapid growth to the stage of pursuing high-quality development of export trade,so that China is in a favorable position in the international trade competition,which is crucial for China’s economic development.In view of this background,this paper will explore the impact of the digital economy on the quality of export trade and whether it promotes the high-quality development of export trade.This paper firstly examines the literature related to the digital economy and export trade quality in recent years,then conducts theoretical research and analysis of the impact mechanism,and starts from the empirical level to derive the level of digital economy development and export trade quality of each province and region through the panel data of 31 provincial administrative regions from 2011 to 2020,and verifies them through econometric methods.The empirical results show that(1)the development of digital economy shows a significant positive impact on promoting the quality of export trade.In addition,human capital investment,advanced industrial structure,and the level of financial development also significantly contribute to the improvement of export trade quality.(2)Science and technology innovation shows a significant mediating effect.The development of digital economy can promote the quality development of export trade through the improvement of the level of frontier science and technology innovation.(3)By dividing the 31 provincial-level administrative regions into eastern,western,and central regions according to their geographical areas,it is found that there is significant variability in the degree of improvement of regional export trade quality by digital economy development.Therefore,in order to give full play to the advantages of digital technology advancement and its role as an engine to promote high-quality economic development,this paper puts forward the following policy recommendations: first,we should continuously strengthen the construction of digital economy infrastructure to provide a solid foundation for upgrading the quality of export trade;second,we should increase human capital accumulation and continuously narrow the digital talent gap to establish a talent foundation for improving the quality of export trade;third,we should strive to strengthen science and technology research and development,tackling cutting-edge digital technology,to provide a strong impetus for export trade quality improvement.
