Research On The Impact Of Digital Economy On The Development Of New Urbanization

Since the reform and opening up,the process of new urbanization in China has been accelerating,and the construction of new urbanization has entered a new stage of development,which has become the source of power for the current Chinese path to modernization.However,in the process of urbanization development,new social problems have emerged,as well as the extensive development model and remaining problems,which have hindered the high-quality development of new urbanization in the new era to a certain extent.At the same time,new digital technologies such as the Internet of Things,artificial intelligence,and 5G technology have developed rapidly,and new industries,new models,and new forms of business have come in droves.This means that the new technological revolution with modern and digital characteristics is booming,bringing new transformations and upgrades to the development of various fields of society.As the most dynamic new mode of economic and social development at present,the digital economy meets the needs of economic transformation and development under the new normal,and is an important driving force for the development of new urbanization.The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly states that developing the digital economy and promoting the development of new urbanization are important strategic arrangements for building a new development pattern,and high-quality development of new urbanization should be achieved through the dividends of the digital economy.Based on this,this thesis discusses the impact mechanism of the digital economy on the development of new urbanization from three aspects: current situation analysis,theoretical mechanism,and empirical analysis.The purpose is to effectively enhance the new impetus for the development of the digital economy,optimize the upgrading of industrial structure,and promote the high-quality development of new urbanization.This thesis first discusses relevant theories based on sorting out relevant domestic and foreign literature,analyzes the development characteristics of China’s digital economy and new urbanization,selects indicators from 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2020 as panel data,uses entropy method to construct an evaluation index system for digital economy and new urbanization,and analyzes the measurement results.Secondly,it theoretically discusses the direct impact of the digital economy on new urbanization,and identifies the impact mechanism of the digital economy on the development of new urbanization from the perspective of industrial structure upgrading.Finally,by constructing a fixed effect model to test the impact of the digital economy on new urbanization,and conducting robustness tests,endogenous tests,etc.,to analyze the existing regional heterogeneity,while using mechanism tests to analyze the mechanism of industrial structure upgrading in the impact process.The research results show that the development scale of China’s digital economy is constantly expanding,and the growth rate is accelerating.At the current stage,China’s new urbanization development process has made substantial progress,but there are problems such as uneven regional development.Among them,the development level of digital economy and new urbanization in the eastern region is the highest,followed by the central region,and the lowest in the western region.In addition,the digital economy has a significant positive impact on the development of new urbanization.However,there is heterogeneity in its effects.Compared to the western region,the impact of the digital economy on the development of new urbanization in the eastern and central regions is more significant.And the mechanism test results show that the digital economy can effectively promote the upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure,and further upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure has a significant positive effect on the development of new urbanization.It can be concluded that the upgrading of industrial structure is an important channel for the digital economy to promote the development level of new urbanization.Based on the above analysis,the following suggestions are proposed:(1)tap the development potential of the digital economy and optimize the regional development pattern of the digital economy;(2)Integrate the development of digital economy and new urbanization,and narrow regional differences in new urbanization;(3)Digitalization empowers the industrial structure and stimulates the vitality of the development of new urbanization.
