Tapping into the potential of rural consumption and thus improving the level of rural consumption can help China’s sustainable and healthy economic development.Although the level of rural consumption has been improved along with China’s reform and opening-up process, there is still huge room for development.Due to many influencing factors, rural consumption level has not been well developed, and one of the more important factors is that rural credit does not provide good support and fails to drive rural consumption through the role of credit. Therefore, the development of rural consumer credit has a certain positive effect on rural residents’ consumption, which can not only effectively improve rural residents’ consumption, but also contribute to the overall economic development of China through the improvement of rural economy. The research topic of this paper is the study of the relationship between rural consumer credit and rural residents’ consumption, and takes rural areas in Henan Province as the research object, using the empirical analysis method and other methods to carry out the research, combining the study of the association between consumer credit on the level of consumption and consumption structure of rural areas in Henan Province, discussing the causal relationship between consumer credit on the level of rural consumption and the influence of consumer credit on the structure of consumption in rural areas in Henan Province. In this paper, multiple linear regression and propensity score matching methods are used to conduct an in-depth analysis of rural consumption credit and consumption. The use of these methods not only helps us to grasp the characteristics and trends of the relevant data more accurately, but also reveals the relationships between various variables and their effects on economic phenomena. On this basis,we put forward a series of policy recommendations aimed at promoting the development of rural consumer credit and consumption in China in order to further promote the development of the rural economy. The study on the impact of consumer credit on rural residents’ consumption in Henan Province not only provides an effective understanding of the current situation of consumer credit and consumption of rural residents in Henan Province, but also provides an empirical analysis to understand the specific impact of consumer credit on rural residents’ consumption, which can provide some reference for the formulation of relevant policies and systems. At the same time,it can also provide a reference for other provinces to help them carry out research in their own situation, and then can effectively enhance the consumption of rural residents in China through consumer credit, and further provide a continuous impetus for China’s economic development. |
