Comparative Study Of Consumption Level And Consumption Structure Of Urban And Rural Residents In Gansu

Since the 1990s, the impact on macro economy of the consumption demand is becoming more important, and because U.S.A.'s financial tsunami, China's economic growth faces the predicament that the external demand drops, it has made its space that further continues being expanded comparatively limited that the high position of the investment demand is operated, so, expand consumption demand become the most basic solution that ensure economy increase continually and steadily. The 17th National Congress Report points out clearly,'insist on the policy of expanding domestic demand, especially the consumption demand, promoted the economic growth changing from mainly depend on making the investment, exporting the tendency of drawing to depending on consumption, making the investment, exporting and coordinating of pulling'. Since the development of western regions, the rate of investment is on the high level in the demand structure of Gansu Province, and the rates of investment are all above 35% generally, the annual average rate of investment keeps the level of 44.46%. And the consuming rate is relatively low, especially the proportion of consumption of resident presents the downward trend, the fall is relatively larger, in the composition of consumption of residents, the urban proportion of consumption of residents is higher than the rural consumption of residents, proves the urban consumption of residents is playing an important role in the economic growth. Furthermore, the urban proportion of consumption of resident is on the rising generally, the rural proportion of consumption of resident presents the downward trend, and the fall reaches 10.18 percentage points. So, how about expand the consumption demand, dwindle the disparity of consumption of resident in urban and rural areas, promote economy to increase steadily comparatively fast, which is the foothold of this paper that studies the consumption level and the consumption structure of urban and rural residents in Gansu Province.This paper mainly carries on research to the consumption level and the consumption structure of urban and rural residents in Gansu Province: First of all, sum the western consumption theory, and enumerate the research of domestic scholar about consumption. Secondly, through combining regression analysis with trend analysis, analyze the consumption level of the urban and rural residents in Gansu Province, though the consumption level of urban and rural residents is improved to some extent to a certain degree, but compared with average national level, there has disparity and still in the bottom. Thirdly, according to the statistical yearbook about the division of eight aspects to the consumption structure, use the combination of static and dynamic to analyze the consumption structure of urban and rural residents of Gansu Province in 1993--2007, and carry on quantize research and qualitative analysis to it with AIDS model, thus may find, the point of growth of consumption of residents in urban and rural areas of Gansu Province is mainly in such aspects as inhabit, the education entertainment, transportation communication, medical treatment and health care, but expenditure proportion is not very high, indicate the overall consumption of the urban and rural residents in Gansu Province needs further improving. Then, according to the above-mentioned analysis results, combine with the situation of Gansu Province itself, and adopt qualitative analysis to analyse four aspects of the influence factor of consumption of residents in urban and rural areas: income level, consumption idea, consumption environment and social security system, may obtain income level is the most principal factor that influences the difference of consumption of residents in urban and rural areas. Finally, the issue of consumption of residents in urban and rural areas of Gansu Province displays two following aspects: According to the consumption level, compared with urban residents, rural residents still have sizable disparity on the quantity; According to the consumption structure, compared with urban residents, rural residents have a lot of disadvantages, the consumption structure of rural residents still needs improve. And propose the conductive suggestion that narrowing the difference of consumption of resident in urban and rural areas of Gansu Province and expanding domestic demand to spur fast-developing economic steadily.
