In the background of the global economic downturn,expanding domestic demand,especially consumer is the key to ensure the healthy development of national economy.Rural consumer market is a huge potential consumer market,rationally developing the rural consumer market,increasing rural residents' consumption,is an important support to expand domestic demand and ensure the sustained,healthy and coordinated development.The consumption level and structure of Chinese rural residents are the main research object.By applying the theory of consumption economic,statistical methods and econometric models,based on qualitative and quantitative analysis,the thesis analyzes changing trend and characteristics and factors of Chinese rural residents consumption level and structure.Based on this,find out and puts forward the policy recommendations to open up China's rural market and improve the consumption of rural residents and upgrade the consumption structure of rural residents.The article investigated China's rural residents' consumption behavior after introducing the basic theories and research methods of consumption structure.Firstly analyze the overall changes of consumption level and consumption structure of rural residents,then describe the impact of the price level,income distribution,regional differences,population structure of household on the rural residents' consumption.Then by using panel data model,empirically analyze the impact of income differences on rural residents' consumption structure of China 's.Conclusions about the above research: The consumption level of rural residents has a upward trend.Since 1990,China's rural residents' consumption structure has healthy development.The ratio of survival consumption in the total consumer spending has a descending trend,at the same time,the enjoy and development consumption have an ascending trend.There are obvious differences in consumption behavior of rural residents of different income households.The income gap is a major factor that affects the consumption structure of rural residents in China.
