Recently, the development of Chinese cross border electronic commerce has been rapid development, and it has been a new impetus to the development of Chinese foreign trade. And with more frequent and deeper trade between countries, how to better simplify the transaction procedures and speed up the process has become a hot issue of concern and discussion among countries, since the emergence of trade facilitation agreements, which opened up a new situation for global economic development. In today’s world where trade barriers still exist,cross-border e-commerce has greater flexibility and convenience compared with traditional trade, but it will still be restricted by hidden barriers such as transportation efficiency, infrastructure, and e-commerce service environment. Therefore,it would be useful to examine how the degree of trade facilitation has an impact on cross border electronic commerce, and how to promote cross-border electronic commerce more effectively by facilitating trade.Based on the perspective of trade facilitation,22 countries that trade frequently with China are selected for the analysis to explore the impact of its level of trade facilitation on China’s cross-border e-commerce exports.First of all, this thesis probes into the relationship of trade facilitation with cross border electronic commerce, and provides a theory foundation for further demonstration.Subsequently,a trade facilitation evaluation system is constructed so as to conduct a quantitative study. The trade facilitation evaluation system consists of five primary indicators and 15 secondary indicators for the characteristics of trade development, which are evaluated and compared using principal component analysis.Regression analysis of the data was conducted through a gravity model with panel data of 22 partner countries from 2011-2019.The explanatory variable is the total amount of China’s cross-border e-commerce exports, and the core explanatory variable is the level of trade facilitation, where other control variables are also introduced, including GDP,POP,FDI,and DIS,and the geographical distance is adjusted with international fuel prices to analyze the impact results, and the countries are also grouped to determine the different impact of high-income and non-high-income countries and the trade The regression analysis of each level of indicators in facilitation is performed separately to explore the impact of different aspects. The final study shows that the improvement of trade facilitation of trading partners has a certain promotion effect on China’s cross-border e-commerce,and that in the cooperation with each partner,we should focus on non-high-income countries and assist them in the areas of infrastructure,e-commerce and financial services to better promote the development of cross-border e-commerce in China.
