In recent years,the development of digital economy is very fast,not only has promoted the development of China’s economy,but also provide great driving force for the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.Manufacturing,in fact has always be taken as an important part of our real economy,has alse closely related to a country’s economy and everyone’s livelihood.In the face of trade protectionism and against the tide of globalization,it is a strategic and smart choice for China to take the high-quality development of manufacturing industry as a goal.It is the top priority of China on the path of high-quality economic development.At present,the manufacturing industry has once again become the focus of economic competition among countries in the world.After more than 40 years of we make friendly relationship and trade with the whole world,China’s manufacturing industry has great and undeniable advantages,in terms of overall scale and system support.In the face of the squeeze between industrialized countries and low-cost underdeveloped countries,we should be good at using the power of the digital economy,which thrives on the Internet platform,and therefore has space spillover,It can be integrated with the manufacturing industry.At the same time,the rapidly updated Internet can bring innovation impetus to the manufacturing industry.The digital economy itself can also improve the total factor productivity of the manufacturing industry as a new factor of production.In the new round of scientific and technological revolution,we accurately grasp its time window and change trend,promote the integrated development of digital economy and manufacturing industry,realize the progress of manufacturing industry towards the middle and high end,and enhance the core competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry.The main content of this paper is how the digital economy can promote the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.This paper first sorts out the relevant literature about the digital economy and manufacturing industry all over the world,then explains the connotation between two of them,then discusses the impact mechanism of the digital economy on manufacturing industry,that is,the promotion role of the digital economy on product quality,total factor productivity,industrial structure upgrading,technological innovation,and green development of manufacturing industry,Finally,it analyzes the current situation of digital economy and manufacturing industry,sets up specific measurement methods,compares and analyzes the differences between the eastern,central and western regions of China,and constructs benchmark regression model and threshold model to test the impact of digital economy on high-quality development of manufacturing industry.The research results of this paper show that:(1)China’s digital economy has achieved significant growth from 2013 to 2020.The eastern region has maintained the highest level of development of China’s digital economy.The development level of the central and western regions is relatively close,and the growth rate is higher than that of the eastern region,showing a strong development potential.(2)The high-quality development level of China’s manufacturing industry has achieved significant growth from 2013 to 2020.The eastern region was slightly lower than the central region from 2013 to 2016,and then achieved rapid growth,becoming the highest region in the country.In terms of growth rate,the eastern,central and western regions have achieved rapid growth after 2015,reflecting the good effect of the rapid implementation of the relevant policies of the manufacturing industry.(3)The digital economy has an obvious linear impact on manufacturing industry,and this impact is positive,indicating that the digital economy can promote the high-quality development of manufacturing industry,of which the digital economy in the central region has the largest impact on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry,and the western region has the smallest impact.(4)The digital economy has an obvious nonlinear impact on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.In different economic environments,the impact of the digital economy on the high-quality development of manufacturing industry is different.(5)In order to further promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry,it is necessary to strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure,promote the balanced development of the digital economy in various regions,and accelerate the integration and development of the digital economy and manufacturing industry.In this process,the government should actively play a supervisory and guiding role,and maximize the dividends of the digital economy on the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
