Entrepreneurial Resilience And Its Impact On Entrepreneurial Performance

With the continuous optimization of China’s entrepreneurial environment,more and more people begin to be active on the stage of entrepreneurship.The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that entrepreneurship should be stimulated and protected,and more social subjects should be encouraged to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship.Since the "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" strategy was put forward,China has formed a new wave of entrepreneurship and innovation,and a wave of entrepreneurial subjects of small and micro enterprises have emerged under the strong push of the government,which has played an important role in fostering new development drivers,promoting supply-side structural reform and promoting economic stability.However,with the advent of COVID-19 in 2020,it is inevitable that many entrepreneurs will be overwhelmed and withdraw from the startup market.Under the double pressure of economic pressure and mental pressure,the resilience of entrepreneurs has become a hot research topic in the field of entrepreneurship and management.How to lead enterprises to tide over difficulties and maintain sustainable operation in the context of COVID-19 is an important test for every entrepreneur.When enterprises in adversity,entrepreneurs entrepreneurship toughness for entrepreneurs to resist negative emotions,bring negative effects,will still be able to keep a stable mood in panic,calm thinking,cool,make efficient decision-making,through the improvement and upgrade existing products and services,or to seize market opportunities,identify new opportunities,to explore the market,develop new products So as to achieve good entrepreneurial performance.Therefore,we can’t help thinking: what kind of resilience will small and micro enterprises with entrepreneurial resilience show when facing entrepreneurial difficulties? What is the internal influence mechanism of entrepreneurial resilience on entrepreneurial performance? What is the role of entrepreneurs’ personal network in the mechanism of entrepreneurial resilience influencing entrepreneurial performance?Based on the above problems,this paper carries out two sub-studies based on the entrepreneurial field of small and micro entrepreneurs.Due to the lack of localized studies on the dimensions and measurement of entrepreneurial resilience,domestic and foreign scholars have not reached a unified opinion on the dimensions of entrepreneurial resilience.Therefore,in the first sub-study,in-depth interviews were conducted with 14 entrepreneurs of small and micro enterprises to understand how they dealt with the difficulties encountered in the process of entrepreneurship and how they led enterprises to tide over difficulties under the epidemic situation,and to extract the dimensional constructs of entrepreneurs of small and micro enterprises in the Context of China.The measurement tools of entrepreneurial resilience obtained in sub-study 1 were applied to sub-study 2 to construct research models of entrepreneurial resilience,binary learning,entrepreneurial performance and relationship network.The mediating role of binary learning and the moderating role of relationship network were discussed,and the following conclusions were drawn:Firstly,entrepreneurs of small and micro enterprises with entrepreneurial resilience tend to be characterized by environmental sensitivity,self-confidence,optimism,resilience and dynamic adaptation,and their positive predictive effects on entrepreneurial performance have been verified,and entrepreneurial resilience also has a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial performance.Secondly,entrepreneurial resilience has a significant positive impact on the development of dual-learning behavior of entrepreneurs,and the positive predictive effect of entrepreneurial resilience on exploitative learning and exploratory learning has been verified.Thirdly,binary learning has a significant impact on entrepreneurial performance,and the positive predictive effect of exploitative learning and exploratory learning on entrepreneurial performance has been verified.Fourthly,the mediating role of binary learning in the relationship between entrepreneurial resilience and entrepreneurial performance has been verified,and exploitative learning and exploratory learning play a partial mediating role in the mechanism of entrepreneurial resilience and entrepreneurial performance.Fifthly,the relationship network plays a positive moderating role in the impact of entrepreneurial toughness on exploitative learning,but does not play a moderating role in the impact of entrepreneurial toughness on exploratory learning.This study adopts the grounded theory method to construct the dimension construct of entrepreneurial resilience of entrepreneurs of small and micro enterprises in the context of Chinese localization,which has certain theoretical significance for the subsequent research on entrepreneurial resilience.In addition,this paper also puts forward management implications from the perspective of practice: first,entrepreneurial resilience plays an important role in overcoming entrepreneurial difficulties,and emphasis should be placed on improving entrepreneurial resilience of entrepreneurs.Entrepreneurial resilience enables entrepreneurs to maintain a healthy psychological state when the enterprise is in adversity,so as not to be overwhelmed and make wrong decisions.Secondly,dual-learning is one of the effective ways to solve entrepreneurial adversity,and entrepreneurs need to constantly improve their learning skills.Exploitative learning can improve the operating performance of enterprises in the short term at a low cost,while exploratory learning focuses on the long-term development of enterprises.By learning new technologies and knowledge,it can help enterprises establish first-mover advantages.When enterprises fall into business crisis,dual-learning can effectively cope with entrepreneurial adversity.Third,take part in more social activities to maintain interpersonal relationships.Studies have found that network can regulate entrepreneurial tenacity and positive use of the relationship between the learning,which contains the abundant business opportunities and business resources,means that entrepreneurs in daily business activities,should pay attention to and upstream and downstream industry entrepreneurs,customers,suppliers,government agencies and their relatives and friends keep in close contact,When enterprises fall into management crisis,these relationship resources are undoubtedly timely help.Finally,the paper summarizes the innovation and shortcomings of the outlook.Through in-depth interviews with entrepreneurs of small and micro enterprises,this study extracts four dimensions of entrepreneurial resilience,which has certain theoretical contributions to the subsequent research on entrepreneurial resilience in The context of China.The mediating effect of binary learning on entrepreneurial resilience and entrepreneurial performance is discussed,and some "black boxes" in the mechanism of entrepreneurial resilience on entrepreneurial performance are revealed.Moreover,the relationship network variables are introduced into the whole research model,and the relatively complete process of the impact of entrepreneurial resilience on entrepreneurial performance is depicted.However,due to the limited time and energy,this paper also has shortcomings: the dimension of entrepreneurial resilience needs to be further tested;The localization scale of entrepreneurial resilience needs to be further developed.The balancing effect of binary learning needs to be further discussed.
