Research On Trade Growth Effect Of Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone

Under the dual background of the global outbreak of the COVID-19 and the implementation of trade protection policies by the United States,China’s economic development transformation has entered a critical stage.Although cross-border e-commerce started late,its rapid growth momentum has become a new driving force to promote the development of the foreign trade industry.In 2022,the import and export scale of China’s cross-border e-commerce has reached 2.11 trillion with an increase of9.8% compared to last year,which has become an important cornerstone for stabilizing the sustained growth of China’s foreign trade and provided a new development channel for the transformation and upgrading of China’s foreign trade.Meanwhile,the scale of China Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone has gradually expanded in recent years,,from the establishment of the first batch of China Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone in 2015 to the establishment of the seventh batch of China Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone by the end of 2022,covering the 31 provinces in the whole country.As an important national policy to promote the reform and innovation of my country’s foreign trade system,what is the effect of the establishment of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone on promoting the growth of regional import and export trade? Based on this,this paper uses Time-varying Differences-in-Differences method to test the effect of the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone on promoting the growth of regional import and export trade,and further explores the impact mechanism,so as to provide certain reference for the establishment of the subsequent cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone.This paper mainly summarizes the relevant research on the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone,and summarizes the theoretical basis for the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone promotes the growth of regional import and export trade,including Trade Facilitation theory,Transaction Costs theory and Regional economic growth theory,then explore the influence mechanism of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone on the growth of regional import and export trade.Specifically,the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone promotes the growth of regional import and export trade by increasing the degree of openness to the outside world,promoting information technology construction,and improving the level of economic development.Through the description of the development history and current situation of the cross-border e-commerce industry and the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone,we further recognize the opportunities and challenges of the times that China’s cross-border e-commerce development faces,and constantly adjust the proportion of import and export trade,thereby enhancing the staying power of cross-border e-commerce development.In the part of empirical analysis,Time-varying DID(Differences-in-Differences)is used to conduct policy effect research on the first three batches of cities that have set up cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone,analyze the impact of the establishment of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone on the growth of regional import and export trade based on empirical regression results,and parallel trend test and robustness test are carried out on the empirical analysis results to ensure the accuracy of the empirical results.Finally,the intermediary mechanism test is carried out on the influence mechanism of the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone to promote the growth of regional import and export trade.Based on the above content,this paper combines the current situation of China’s cross-border e-commerce industry and cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone,and according to the empirical results and the analysis of the influence mechanism,respectively from the aspects of national policy and enterprise development,provide relevant reference suggestions for the further improvement and promotion of China Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
