As one of the strategic emerging industries,high-end equipment manufacturing industry has gradually become a pillar industry of China’s national economy and an important support for China’s industrial transformation and upgrading.Due to the important strategic position of high-end equipment manufacturing industry,in recent years, the highend equipment manufacturing industry has attracted much attention in the world, and triggered a new round of technological competition.During this period,The State Council and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology successively issued a number of plans to cultivate and develop high-end equipment manufacturing industry. In this context, how to improve the position of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry in the international vertical division of labor has become a key issue to be solved.Based on input-output economics and vertical division of labor theory, this paper discusses the internationalization of vertical division of labor in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry.Firstly, the internationalization of vertical division of labor in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry is analyzed by using the regional inputoutput table of China from 2002 to 2020 released by the National Bureau of Statistics. The results show that:(1)China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry has a strong influence on other industries and responds well to encouraging policies;(2)The secondary import substitution of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry has made some progress, but there is still a certain dependence on import, especially electronic equipment.Secondly, using the intra-regional input-output table(IOTs)of China,Germany, the United States and Japan from 2009 to 2018 released by OECD,this paper compares and analyzes the internationalization of vertical division of labor in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry of the four countries. The results show that:(1)the penetration degree of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry in the national economy is low;(2)The capital dependence of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry is relatively serious, and the transformation of achievements is slow;(3)The international vertical division of labor of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry is naive, and its international competitiveness is relatively weak.Thirdly, the influence factors of vertical division internationalization in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry are analyzed, and impulse response function is used to test. The results show that:(1)Market competition intensity and industrial intelligence level have a certain lag in promoting the vertical division of labor internationalization of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry;(2)R&D investment has a strong promotion effect in the short term, but because the transformation period of R&D investment is long, its long-term stable positive impact also has a certain lag;(3)FDI has a positive and negative impact on the vertical division of labor internationalization of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry, but in general,it has a positive impact on the vertical division of labor internationalization of China’s highend equipment manufacturing industry. Finally, based on the overall situation of vertical division of labor in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry, combined with theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, the following suggestions are put forward:(1)Further introduce policies to encourage high-end equipment manufacturing, provide policy support to high-end equipment manufacturing enterprises, encourage market competition, and create a favorable business environment;(2)Formulate a reasonable strategic plan for the development of highend equipment manufacturing industry, focusing on core technology fields that are heavily dependent on imports;(3)Strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and develop advanced talent incentive system;(4)Encourage the high-end equipment manufacturing industry to use more artificial intelligence, industrial robots and other intelligent products to improve the level of industrial intelligence;(5)Increase investment in high-end equipment manufacturing, introduce foreign investment as appropriate, and pay attention to improving the efficiency of investment conversion.
