The Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration Development Plan was designed to spearhead the urbanization and agricultural modernization of the west through the formation of Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration. However, due to the relatively slow level of economic and social construction, this construction plan still needs to be further improved compared with the development of the other urban agglomerations..At the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Chengdu-Chongqing double-city economic circle was advanced as a national strategy and designated as a major regional development plan for the nation.Emphasizing the need for Sichuan and Chongqing to bolster their collective efforts, they should sing the "tale of two cities",construct an economic circle, and collaborate to form a significant growth pole and a fresh energy source to propel the nation’s high-caliber progress. The importance of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is further accentuated by the proposal of the development strategy. Therefore,a thorough study of the links, interactions and spillover effects between Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration will help to better implement the regional coordinated development policy and thus play a positive role. The rapid economic growth of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration in recent years has been accompanied by a wide disparity in economic development between regions, and a disparity between the industrial structure and economic development level of each region.Urban agglomeration’s economic development sees each city not being autonomous and separate from one another. The circulation of capital and labor creates economic ties. This paper employs Geo Da software to assess the economic spatial correlation of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, based on economic growth theory, unbalanced growth theory and spatial interaction theory.Additionally,Moran’s I indices of global and local autocorrelation are analyzed. The entropy weight method is employed to contrast the endowment disparities and factor inputs of various cities, which to a certain degree elucidates the spatial distribution and spatial agglomeration features of economic growth in each urban agglomeration of Chengdu-Chongqing.This paper employs the spatial Dubin model, which is divided into urban geographical distance, economic distance matrix, and geographical economic distance matrix,to empirically examine spillover effects. It further dissects the spatial spillover effects, and thoroughly examines the direct, indirect, and total effects of the spatial spillover of each factor, such as financial development. Finally,it is divided into two regions, and the heterogeneity analysis is carried out in different regions,so as to explore the gap between the central region and the marginal region and the reasons. The economic growth of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration has been found to have a significant correlation and agglomeration effect,as evidenced by research, specifically manifested as high and low agglomeration,Around Chengdu and the main urban area of Chongqing, areas with higher economic level have formed in different areas, while other areas with higher economic level have gathered and distributed around the higher economic level according to the level. There is a large gap in the distribution of factor endowments among cities, and the gap between core cities and other cities is obvious. The political and economic status and location conditions of cities have an important impact on the factor input and economic development of cities.Second,in general, the economic development of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration presents a positive correlation between space and its environment. The economic expansion of neighboring areas can be a catalyst for the region’s own growth, yet the effects of various elements on economic expansion vary significantly in terms of direction and strength. However, due to the limitations of various reasons, there are obvious differences in the direction and contribution of spillovers of different factors to economic growth.Fixed assets, human capital, labor force, financial development degree, industrial structure and market potential all promote the economic growth of the region. The competition and game of factors will produce negative spillovers to the surrounding areas, and the spillover of market potential will help promote the economic growth of the surrounding areas.Third, through the analysis of regional heterogeneity,it is found that the factors that affect the economic growth of central and marginal regions are different.Specifically, fixed assets investment, financial development degree, and market potential can promote the overall economy of the central region. The number of working population, industrial structure and market potential play a role in promoting the overall economy in the marginal regions. Finally,On the basis of an in-depth understanding of the spatial relevance, the leading role of the core cities should be played. The underdeveloped regions should adhere to the reform and development trend, bolster infrastructure construction, and be prepared to take part in industrial transfer and factor spillover in the developed regions. At the same time, the advantages of each city should be brought into play to form an industrial development group with complementary advantages,so as to achieve sustainable economic and social development. The vigorous development of various cities will be closely combined with the overall high-quality development of the west.Improve the contribution rate of various factors to high-quality economic growth to promote the coordinated development of regional economy. |
