The Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is the largest population and economic sector in the western region. It plays an important role in the development of the western region.Under the current complex domestic and international situation, the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration will participate in the national strategy of the"Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. And important historical missions, such as broadening China's economic maneuver and expanding the strategic depth of the Chinese nation. The non-equilibrium of the economic development space and regional governance stages of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration make the internal economic space have unique characteristics of evolution. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the spatial-temporal differences of the economic development of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration..Based on the panel data of the economic development indicators of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2008 to 2018,this paper takes 127 county-level units and 35 city(district)regional units within the urban agglomeration as research objects, and uses multidimensional mathematical statistical methods and spatial statistical methods. The spatial-temporal differences in the economic development of urban agglomerations from 2008 to 2018 were measured, analyzed, and the underlying mechanisms discussed.Based on a review of domestic and international research on"urban agglomerations" and "regional development differences",the relevant theories of regional economic development are sorted out;a periodical review of the development context and planning process of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomerations is conducted;in empirical analysis Using standard deviation, coefficient of variation,Gini coefficient, and ESDA methods to measure the spatial and temporal differentiation of GDP in a single indicator, reveal the time series and spatial correlation pattern of per capita GDP in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, and evolve it in stages.Based on this, based on this, the principal component analysis method is used to extract the principal component, analyze the evolution sequence and measure the spatial correlation pattern of the multiple economic development indicators covering per capita GDP,revealing the characteristics of the spatial and temporal differences of regional development from the perspective of different economic development characteristics. Finally, based on empirical research, the mechanism is explored from the aspects of natural resources, urban gradients, economic quality, and industrial cooperation, and corresponding countermeasures are proposed. The measurement of the spatiotemporal evolution of economic differences based on GDP per capita shows that the absolute difference in economic development levels has always shown an increasing trend, and the relative difference has shown an overall low, increasing first, then decreasing, and steadily converging trend.Convergence and Northward Movement",the speed of movement showed an" increasing-decreasing-increasing "trend, and the direction of economic space was" strengthening-weakening-strengthening "in the" northeast-southwest "direction;economic differences were spatially related The characteristics of Chengdu-Chongqing dual-core and its metropolitan area are relatively polarized. The "Chengdu-Deyang-Mianyang"economic development zone has a relatively "collapse" trend;the spatial correlation pattern of economic growth types has changed significantly, and the growth sequence of Chengdu-Chongqing has gradually increased. The characteristic of "point-to-surface and point-to-surface combination" reflects that the driving effect of Chengdu-Chongqing Metropolitan Circle has begun to appear.Principal component analysis was used to measure the spatial and temporal difference of the comprehensive level of economic development of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, and the three main components of economic strength, economic quality, and economic structure were extracted. The results showed that in terms of economic volume, the dual cores of Chongqing and Chongqing are obviously polarized. The development level of urban agglomerations is insufficient, and the urban agglomeration area lacks a third central city.In terms of the quality and quality of economic development, the radiation-driven effect of Chongqing is stronger than that of Sichuan. In terms of industrial structure, the development trend of the industrial sector is beginning to show, but the same trend Significant qualitative. At the end of the study, based on the composite evaluation of single indicators and multi-source indicators, based on the perspective of the main components of economic indicators, the mechanism analysis of economic differences was proposed, and corresponding countermeasures were proposed to provide theoretical and practical references for the coordinated development of Chengdu and Chongqing.
