Research On The Impact Of Rural Public Goods Supply On Farmers’ Income Under The Goal Of Common Prosperity

At present,China has fully entered a moderately prosperous society,and common prosperity has become an important development goal of China.Common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism and an important feature of China’s modernization,and by 2035,the common prosperity of all the people will make more obvious and substantial progress,and basic public services will be equalized(Xi Jinping,2021).To promote common prosperity,the most arduous and onerous task is in the countryside.Document No.1 of the Central Committee in 2023 clearly pointed out: ensure that farmers steadily increase their income.In order to implement the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee,promoting the increase of the income level of peasant households and alleviating the income gap of peasant households have become the top priorities of the current and future "three rural areas" work,and it is also the only way to achieve common prosperity of socialism.As an important part of basic public services,the answers to these questions about whether the supply of rural public goods can effectively increase the income level of farmers,whether it can effectively alleviate the income gap between rural households,and how to better promote rural common prosperity through the supply of rural public goods will make us have a new understanding of the realization of the national common prosperity goal.In order to answer the above questions,this paper follows the following ideas to carry out research: first,summarize the existing research results and related theories at home and abroad,and construct the research framework of this paper.Secondly,it is analyzed by combining macro and micro data to conduct empirical research.Finally,through the analysis of the empirical results,research conclusions are drawn and targeted policy suggestions are put forward.Based on the existing research and the goal of common prosperity,this paper studies and discusses the impact of rural public goods supply on the income level and income gap of rural households.(1)Theoretical part: a large number of existing research results in domestic and foreign fields are studied and summarized,and the main research results of the concept of common prosperity,public economic theory and income distribution theory are expounded;This paper analyzes the discussion of farmers’ income under the goal of common prosperity,which inevitably includes two aspects: the growth of farmers’ income level and the alleviation of farmers’ income gap.The classic literature of rural public goods supply,farmers’ income and the impact of rural public goods supply on farmers’ income was sorted out.At the same time,the influence mechanism of various types of rural public goods supply on the income level and income gap of farmers is analyzed from the theoretical level,and the research hypothesis of this paper is put forward.(2)Empirical part: using a combination of macro and micro,using public data such as statistical yearbooks and CLDS survey micro data to analyze the supply of rural public goods and the income of rural households in China;The least squares regression method was used to test the influence of the supply of various types of rural public goods on the income level of rural households,the quantile regression method was used to test the impact of various types of rural public goods on the income level of rural households at different income quantiles,and RIF regression was used to test the impact of various types of rural public goods on the income gap of rural households.Robustness testing is performed by replacing income inequality measures and reducing sample sizes.(3)Further discussion: By classifying the gender of household heads,this paper examines the gender differences in heads of household in the supply of rural public goods that affect the income of rural households.(4)Conclusion and recommendations: Combined with the theoretical analysis and empirical results of this study,this paper puts forward policy suggestions for using the supply of rural public goods to increase the income level of rural households and alleviate the income gap of rural households,so as to provide new research ideas for the realization of the goal of common prosperity in rural areas.The results show that:(1)In terms of the income level of rural households,all types of rural public goods have a significant income increase effect on the whole.Subdivided into different types of rural public goods: production-oriented rural public goods have different income-increasing effects at different income quantiles,and the income level of high-income and low-income rural households is not significantly improved;The supply of life-oriented rural public goods and basic rural public goods can play a significant role in increasing income at different income points.(2)As far as the income gap of rural households is concerned,the supply of production-oriented rural public goods,life-oriented rural public goods and basic rural public goods can effectively alleviate the income gap of rural households.(3)There is heterogeneity in the gender heterogeneity of household heads in the impact of production-oriented rural public goods supply on the income level of rural households and the income gap between rural households.Based on this,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Strengthen the level of rural public goods supply,and refine the supply of rural public goods by type.(2)Strengthen the supply of production-oriented rural public goods in key areas.(3)Improve the quality of the supply of public goods in rural areas.(4)Continue to optimize the supply of basic rural public goods.The research content of this paper focuses on important development topics of the times,and analyzes the impact of various types of rural public goods supply on the income level and income gap of rural households under the goal of common prosperity through relatively cutting-edge empirical research,which can enrich theoretical research in this field on the one hand,and put forward targeted policy suggestions on the other hand.
