China,as the largest developing country and economic transition country in the world,has the characteristics of relatively low information openness,high collection cost and strong policy uncertainty in the capital market.Such environment provides certain necessary conditions for the existence of corporate behavior peer effect,that is,the enterprise will be affected by the behavioral decision-making of the same group of enterprises when making decisions.At present,more and more enterprises incorporate the fulfillment of social responsibility into their business strategies,and regard it as an important means to achieve long-term development and maintain a competitive advantage.Under the current background of economic globalization,Chinese enterprises are gradually entering the international market to carry out competition and cooperation,active fulfillment of social responsibility can highlight the good international image of an enterprise.However,the corporate social responsibility crisis incidents exposed in recent years,such as the Master Kang sauerkraut noodle incident,have seriously damaged the public interest and corporate image.Therefore,this paper takes corporate social responsibility as the research topic,and conducts a systematic study on the implementation of corporate social responsibility in the supply chain network based on the theory of peer effect.This paper selects Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2021 as the research object,explores the peer effect of social responsibility fulfillment on their supply chain network,and attempts to analyze the economic effects of corporate social responsibility fulfillment.Through empirical analysis,this paper finds that there is a peer effect in the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility in the supply chain network,and the active fulfillment of social responsibility by the customers and suppliers of the enterprise will make the enterprise itself more actively fulfill its social responsibility,and this conclusion has been carried out in a series of It still holds after the robustness test.Further analysis found that the peer effect of corporate social responsibility on the supply chain network has a certain heterogeneity,and it is more obvious in the eastern region,in enterprises with female management,executives with financial background,and stateowned enterprises.In addition,this paper also studies the economic effects of corporate social responsibility.Empirical research shows that enterprises actively fulfilling social responsibilities can improve technological innovation investment and their own value.The research conclusions of this paper have certain enlightenment significance for enterprises to improve their social responsibility awareness,pay attention to the peer effect of social responsibility performance,and for the government and regulatory authorities to issue relevant policies,improve relevant laws and regulations,and strengthen corporate social responsibility supervision.
