China is the largest export country of wood forest products and occupies a very important position in the international market.Although the export of wood forest products in China has developed rapidly in recent years, there is a huge imbalance in the export structure, which is not only reflected in the imbalance between export products and export markets, but also in the imbalance between provinces. The coastal provinces of Guangdong,Zhejiang,Jiangsu,Shandong,Fujian and Shanghai ranked first in the export volume of wood forest products for a long time, while the export volume of wood forest products in areas with rich forest resources such as Inner Mongolia,Sichuan and Heilongjiang was very small. Therefore, studying the regional development characteristics and main influencing factors of China ’s wood forest products export has important practical significance for the optimization and upgrading of China ’s wood forest products industry and the sustainable development of trade.Based on the above purpose, this paper mainly adopts the method of combining quantitative and qualitative research to carry out the following research:Firstly,by reviewing the relevant trade theory, new economic geography theory and spatial econometrics theory, and combing the relevant literature at home and abroad, this paper summarizes the enlightenment of relevant theories and research methods to this study.Second, the analysis of the current situation and characteristics of China ’ s wooden forest products trade, can have a comprehensive understanding of China ’ s wooden forest products trade product categories, target market, export province structure characteristics;third, using the spatial econometric model, this paper empirically analyzes the spatial agglomeration effect and influencing factors of China ’ s wooden forest products export. In empirical research, this paper selects the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2007 to 2019,and uses spatial autocorrelation test method and spatial econometric model to empirically analyze the spatial agglomeration effect and influencing factors of China ’s wooden forest products export. The results showed that:(1)Moran ’s I index of each year was positive and passed the significant test, indicating that there was spatial agglomeration effect in the export of woody forest products between provinces in China, and the degree of spatial agglomeration was gradually increasing in recent years.(2)More than 80 % of the provinces fall in the first and third quadrants of the Moran scatter plot, indicating that China’s export of wood forest products has a positive spatial autocorrelation and unbalanced development pattern.The28 provinces’ thresholds have never changed, indicating that there is a clear’ path dependence’ feature in the export of woody forest products in these regions.(3)The impact of forest endowments on China’s export of wood forest products is not obvious, but the positive relationship between resource-intensive forest products import and export trade of wood forest products is obvious, indicating that China’ s wood forest products have the situation of “big import and big export, two ends outside.”(4)Labor productivity, external dependence and road density play an important role in promoting the export of wood forest products in China, while the distance from foreign trade ports has a significant negative effect on the export of wood forest products in China.Based on this, this paper puts forward policy implications such as giving full play to the trade spillover effect and radiation effect of the core region, strengthening the construction of regional transportation facilities, accelerating the construction of timber forest, and creating a good business environment for forestry development.
