Research On The Measurement And Influencing Factors Of Digital Economy Based On The Toe Framework

In recent years,the digital economy generated by the new generation of information technology has developed vigorously in China.However,the uneven development of the digital economy has become a serious problem.The cause of this phenomenon needs further analysis and discussion.In addition,most studies related to the digital economy emphasize the role of the digital economy in reshaping the social structure,and lack of research on the driving mechanism of the digital economy development.Therefore,exploring the path of high-quality development of China’s digital economy has become a subject of great research significance.Based on the TOE framework and the connotation of digital economy,this thesis constructs a measurement system for the development level of the digital economy,and the score of the digital economy development in 30 provinces in China from 2016 to 2020 is measured by entropy method.And then,combined with the resource-based theory and the institutional logic theory,through the two-way fixed effect model and the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method,this thesis explores the mechanism of the factors affecting the development level of the digital economy by quantitative research and qualitative analysis.The research finds that:(1)China’s digital economy is in a period of rapid development,and the development quality of digital economy is decreasing in the eastern the central and the western regions in order.How to reduce the differences between regions is the key to solving the imbalance in the development of the digital economy.(2)R&D investment,government intervention,market selection,economic basis,industrial structure and human capital can significantly affect the development of China’s digital economy,but the driving factors act differently because of the geographical differences.(3)There are four types of paths that can contribute to the development high-quality digital economy,namely,"environment-driven path with economic basic and industrial structure as the core conditions","dual-driven path of technology and organization with R&D investment and market selection as the core conditions","dualdriven path of technology and organization with infrastructure and economic basic as the core conditions","dual-driven path of technology and environment with infrastructure,economic basic and industrial structure as the core conditions".The different paths represent multiple ways to achieve high-quality development of the digital economy.The findings in this thesis have important theoretical and practical significance for understanding the present situation and exploring the mechanism of factors and factors combination affecting the high-quality development of digital economy,and also has reference value for the future research.
