| At present,the upgrading of China’s industrial structure is in an important period of development mode transformation and transformation of old and new dynamics.In order to achieve the overall goal of economic transformation and upgrading,the industrial structure must quickly adapt to the needs of the new normal.The digital economy industry supported by digital technology is an emerging industry,and its integration with other industries is causing a new industrial change,profoundly affecting the upgrading of traditional industries and the expansion aspect of new industries,as well as being a new driving force to promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Therefore,an in-depth study and analysis of the impact of the digital economy in the upgrading of industrial structure is of great significance to grasp the opportunities of the development of the digital economy and to realize the optimization and upgrading of China’s industrial structure.Firstly,this thesis composes the relevant literature on the digital economy and industrial structure,and combines it with the existing research results at home and abroad to analyse the theoretical basis and mechanism of the impact of the development of the digital economy on the optimization and upgrading of China’s industrial structure;then,using the cross-sectional data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021 as samples,12 indicators are selected to construct an evaluation index system for measuring China’s provincial digital economy The evaluation index system for measuring the development level of China’s provincial digital economy was selected and the development level of the digital economy was measured by factor analysis;at the same time,the entropy weighting method was applied to measure the level of industrial structure upgrading by weighting the advanced industrial structure and the rationalization of industrial structure;on this basis,the transmission mechanism of the digital economy promoting industrial structure upgrading was empirically tested by using the fixed effect model and the intermediary effect model.The study found that:(1)China’s digital economy development level shows a spatial evolution pattern of strong in the east and weak in the west,and the digital economy development level of each province in China is increasing from 2011 to 2020,and slightly decreases year-on-year in 2021 due to the impact of the epidemic.(2)From 2011-2021,the degree of upgrading of China’s industrial structure is steadily increasing and shows significant regional heterogeneity,with the eastern region being the highest and the western,northeastern and central regions showing a staggered distribution of strengths and weaknesses in each region,but with the passage of time,the advantages are gradually concentrated in the central and western regions.(3)The development of the digital economy can significantly promote the upgrading of industrial structure.Among the control variables,urbanization and the degree of government intervention have a significant inhibiting effect on the upgrading of industrial structure,infrastructure,openness to the outside world and consumption level have a significant promoting effect on the upgrading of industrial structure,while population size has no significant effect on industrial structure.(4)In terms of the influence mechanism,the digital economy promotes the upgrading of industrial structure by accumulating human capital,innovating technology and developing the economy,and the mediating variables all play a part in it,with the mediating effect of economic growth accounting for the highest proportion.Accordingly,the following policy recommendations are made:increase investment in the digital economy,improve the innovation capacity of key digital information technology,and implement digital economy development strategies according to local conditions. |
