In the new development context, the Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration is facing new development opportunities, gradually achieving coordinated development, and shouldering the responsibility of becoming a high-quality economic growth point in the future. However, there is still a certain gap compared to its planned development goals, and it also faces many development problems.Element flow can directly reflect the tightness of element connections between cities, providing a good reference for studying the problem of element connections between cities within urban agglomerations. At present, the factor flows commonly used for academic analysis include economic flow, traffic flow, information flow, population flow, technology flow, etc.Based on the "flow space" theory, this paper takes the Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration as the research area, and combines the three factor flows of economic flow, traffic flow and information flow to analyze the urban agglomeration network. The results are as follows:First,in terms of the intensity of factor flows,Beijing and Tianjin are the two major growth poles within the urban agglomeration,The comprehensive factor flow intensity is ahead of other cities within the urban agglomeration, and the overall difference in factor flow intensity among cities within the urban agglomeration is significant.Secondly, from the perspective of economic flow, traffic flow and information flow, the cities with the highest intensity of factor flow in the region are Beijing,Tianjin and Beijing, respectively. There is a large difference in the degree of membership of the cities ranking first in the intensity of factor flow, which needs to be improved urgently.Thirdly,in terms of urban network hierarchy, all core cities and areas within the urban agglomeration are located in a "trapezoidal" space. There are two core cities, namely Beijing and Tianjin, which are important growth poles within the urban agglomeration and jointly drive the development of surrounding cities. However, the diffusion role of the two cities still needs to be strengthened.Fourthly,in terms of urban network structure, there is similarity under different element flow perspectives:number of network skeletons<number of network backbone<number of network branches<number of network edges. The difference lies in the differences in the network structure of urban agglomerations from the perspective of three factor flows.Specifically, information flow is superior to traffic flow and economic flow, and the gap between the urban network structure from the perspective of economic flow and the network structure from the perspective of traffic flow and information flow is large.Overall, the current network of Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomerations exhibits a "fault like" development characteristic.Based on the above analysis results, this article comprehensively analyzes the influencing factors of factor flow and the causes of the "fault type" network characteristics of the current urban agglomeration. It is found that the economy, transportation, and people’s livelihood are the main factors causing the current dilemma:the imperfect economic synergy, large differences in transportation development, and the need to improve people’s well-being all have a certain impact on the healthy development of the urban agglomeration network.Based on this, this article proposes the characteristics of the urban agglomeration network in an ideal state, and based on the conclusion of the cause analysis, puts forward relevant policy recommendations for optimizing the urban agglomeration network from the perspective of factor flow, namely, promoting the construction of a solid foundation for collaborative development through economic collaboration, promoting the improvement of commuting efficiency in the "commuting circle" through transportation integration, and guiding the scientific and reasonable distribution of regional population through effective mechanisms.
