The New Western Land and Sea Corridor(abbreviated as "New Land and Sea Corridor")is a composite open corridor in western China that organically connects with "One Belt and One Road" using the north-south land, sea and air transportation network, and realizes linkage with ASEAN and other regions of the world. To the south, the corridor can connect with international logistics hubs such as Singapore, and then radiate to Oceania,Africa and Europe, etc. To the north,it can connect with ChinaEurope international trains, which can strongly promote the synergy of China’s land economy and marine economy. The New Western Land and Sea Corridor is an important vehicle for shaping the new pattern of western development in the new era,and the policy is proposed to promote the great protection, development and highquality development of the southwest region. In this context, this paper compares the literature review on the policy of the New Western Land and Sea Corridor, the linkage effect between logistics industry and regional economy, propensity score matchingdouble difference method, etc.,and conducts an in-depth study on the mechanism of the role of the New Western Land and Sea Corridor on inter-regional logistics industry and economic development by combining modern logistics theory, regional economic growth theory, synergistic development theory and the New Western Land and Sea Corridor, and the main work and conclusions are as follows.Based on the inter-provincial panel data of five provinces of Guangxi,Chongqing,Sichuan,Guizhou and Yunnan and the panel data of 289 cities nationwide from 2011-2020,this paper measures the coupled and coordinated development of logistics and regional economy in southwest China by using the entropy value method and by constructing the coupling coordination degree model, and the results show that: the comprehensive score of logistics system and the comprehensive score of regional economic system of five provinces have been increasing since 2011 to The coupling coordination degree of logistics and regional economy has been increasing continuously during the period of 2011-2019,and the coupling coordination grade has been improving, but due to the impact of the new crown epidemic in 2020,the coupling coordination degree has decreased;in order to explore the actual effect of the implementation of the policy of the new western land and sea corridor, the study In order to investigate the actual effect of the implementation of the new Western Land and Sea Corridor policy, the study further uses the PSM method to select 208prefecture-level cities not covered by the new Western Land and Sea Corridor that are more likely to meet the assumption of parallel trends with the node cities of the new corridor, and examines the impact of the new Western Land and Sea Corridor on the logistics industry and regional economic development in southwest China using a double difference model. The results show that the strategy of the New Western Land and Sea Corridor can significantly promote the synergistic development of logistics industry and economy in node cities, and respond significantly to economic development, openness to the outside world, financial activity, economic vitality, and livelihood security. In terms of policies,it is recommended to increase support for the new western land and sea corridor strategy, coordinate the competition among many provinces and cities along the corridor and the provinces along the corridor, and enhance the momentum of regional integration through the establishment of a unified regional coordination and management system and cooperation mechanism to promote the coordinated development of the southwest region.
