| The continuous improvement of farmers’ consumption demand and the continuous optimization of consumption structure have played a positive role in promoting the Rural Revitalization and economic development of Xiangxi Prefecture.Since the reform and opening up in Xiangxi Prefecture,the economic situation of farmers has continued to improve,but the overall consumption expenditure has remained at a low level.The consumption of rural residents is mainly based on the lifestyle of food,clothing and transportation.The unreasonable consumption structure limits the release of their consumption.This paper combines rural consumption theory with econometric methods to study the changes of rural residents’ consumption structure and its influencing factors in Xiangxi Prefecture.This paper attempts to provide countermeasures for improving the consumption structure of rural residents in Xiangxi Prefecture by analyzing the changing laws and influencing factors of the consumption structure of rural residents in Xiangxi Prefecture.First of all,the paper consulted the literature on the study of the consumption structure of rural residents.Secondly,combined with the actual situation of Xiangxi Prefecture,it analyzes the consumption expenditure.Thirdly,according to the existing data,combined with the specific situation of Xiangxi Prefecture,this paper puts forward the factors that affect the farmers’ consumption structure,and discusses the reasons through combining theory with practice.Finally,combing relevant data,refining indicators and building models,this paper makes an empirical study on the consumption structure of Xiangxi Prefecture from 2003 to 2020.The research shows that: affected by the epidemic,the consumption level of rural residents in Xiangxi Prefecture will decrease significantly with the increase of income in 2020.In the consumption structure,the consumption of food,culture,education and entertainment is still the "first square" of the consumption expenditure of rural residents in Western Hunan,accounting for nearly 50%.From the overall evolution trend,from 2003 to 2020,the consumption structure of rural residents in Western Hunan is changing from subsistence consumption to development consumption,and the consumption demand of rural residents in Western Hunan is relatively strong and the consumption potential is relatively large.With the improvement of rural residents’ income level,the consumption improvement trend of rural residents in Xiangxi Prefecture will be carried out in the aspects of entertainment,medical care and household equipment and supplies in the future.According to the results of the model analysis,the impact of price changes on the current food consumption of rural residents is small,but the impact on other consumer goods is obvious.Income has the greatest impact on the change of consumption structure,while the population age structure and industrial structure are not significant in the model.According to the research results,this paper puts forward policy suggestions to improve the consumption structure and consumption level of rural residents in Xiangxi Prefecture from the perspective of consumption structure development trend,income and urbanization: first,we should strengthen the development of rural economy and increase the income of rural residents;Second,strengthen the subsidies for the development of consumer goods for enjoyment and optimize the consumption structure of residents;Third,optimize the industrial structure and improve the level of local urbanization. |
