In the process of actively implementing the policy of converting old and new kinetic energy in China, the choice of regional development paths, the speed and quality of development, etc.inevitably lead to differences in the process of converting old and new kinetic energy. At the same time, along with the emergence of problems such as overcapacity, increased environmental pollution and uncoordinated regional development, the old kinetic energy represented by traditional industries has entered a period of adjustment, and the cultivation of new kinetic energy urgently needs to find new impetus. The development of information technology, with its powerful innovation diffusion, spillover and beneficiary effects, has given new connotations to the transformation of old and new kinetic energy in the region. However, negative effects such as information overload, differences in factor endowments between regions and the mismatch between information technology and its factor endowment structure have,to a certain extent, affected the smooth transformation of the old and new dynamics in the region. In this context, the impact of information technology development on the transformation of old and new dynamics in the region should be re-examined and evaluated, and this is a major issue that needs to be addressed. In view of this, this paper firstly uses the entropy method to measure the regional transformation of old and new dynamics in two dimensions: speed and quality, and combines the coupled coordination model,Arc GIS natural break method and exploratory spatial data analysis to analyse the spatial and temporal characteristics of the development level of the regional transformation of old and new dynamics in terms of their coupled coordination and comprehensive development level.Secondly, the regional differences and convergence trends are characterized based on the Dagum Gini coefficient and convergence model. Finally, from the perspective of non-linearity and heterogeneity,a theoretical mechanism model is constructed, and the impact of information technology development on the transformation of old and new dynamics in the region is analysed in depth using a general panel model and a spatial econometric model, and the robustness is tested using a quantile regression model and a replacement spatial weight matrix. The results of the study show that.(1)The vast majority of Chinese provinces lag behind in the quality of the old and new dynamism transition, but the speed changes are more unstable. The overall level of coupling and coordination between the two is low and has obvious spatial non-equilibrium characteristics, while there is a certain trend of "inward expansion" in the hotspot areas;the comprehensive development level of regional old and new dynamism conversion is fluctuating and rising in the time dimension, with more obvious changes of continuous growth after 2014.In the spatial dimension, the eastern coastal and northwestern regions are the centres of agglomeration, spreading along the west and southeast towards the central region respectively, showing obvious spatial non-equilibrium characteristics.(2)The degree of regional imbalance in the transfer of new and old kinetic energy decreases gradually, but the intra-regional difference is the first source of the imbalance distribution compared with the inter-regional difference. The convergent evolution trend of σconvergence, spatial β convergence and club convergence shows that the backward provinces are catching up with the leading provinces. In addition, the regions with similar structural characteristics and similar development level of the initial transformation of new and old kinetic energy will tend to the same steady state.(3)In both the general panel model and the spatial econometric model, the development of information technology has a significant positive impact on the transformation of new and old dynamics in the region, and shows a significant marginal decreasing non-linear driving effect. There is significant regional heterogeneity in the impact of information technology development on the transformation of old and new dynamics in the region, with regions with a high level of development of the transformation of old and new dynamics in the region receiving more information dividends, while in western regions with a low level of development of the transformation of old and new dynamics in the region, the non-linear impact of information technology development on them is "U" shaped, and the spatial effect is not significant in western The spatial effect is not significant in the western region.By exploring the feasible path for the strategic layout of the conversion of the old and new dynamics in the region, this paper attempts to truly open the "black box" of information technology development affecting the conversion of the old and new dynamics in the regional economy, and to provide a theoretical foundation and basis for accelerating the smooth conversion of the old and new dynamics.
