An Empirical Study On Digital Technology Promoting Regional Economic Growth In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

The development of digital economy is in the ascendant,and the digital transformation of industry is developing vigorously,which has gradually become the theme of China’s recent economic development.In to investigate the state of digital technology and manufacturing development in Yangtze River Economic Zone,to explore the actual basis of digital technology to promote regional economic growth,and to fill the gaps in existing studies related to the study of digital technologies in driving economic growth with regard to the research subjects and other aspects.In this paper,based on the data related to the development of manufacturing sector and digital technology in eleven provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2010 to 2020,using the entropy method,an index system for evaluating the development level of manufacturing sector and digital technology in eleven provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is established,and the methods of panel data regression,quantile regression and variance regression are used to verify the linear relationship between the two linear relationship.The results of the study show that(1)the manufacturing growth in all 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Zone shows a year-on-year increase during the period2010-2020.(2)The digital technology advancement level of the eleven provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt between 2010 to 2020 also presents a yearly improvement;(3)The outcomes of overall space autocorrelation analysis show that the level of digital technology advancement in the Yangtze River Economic Zone shows a negative correlation with neighboring spaces.(4)The panel data regression results reveal that digital technology can greatly effect the level of manufacturing growth in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.and there is also a significant lagging effect of this promotion effect;(5)The results of regional diversity analysis show that there are some variations in the effect of digital technology in promoting manufacturing development in the provinces and cities in the upper,middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.with the greatest promoting effect in the midstream region and weaker promoting effect in the upstream and downstream regions due to the weaker basis of digital technology development and diminishing marginal effect;(6)The results of panel quantile regression show that with the gradual improvement of manufacturing development level,the role of digital technology in promoting manufacturing development in Yangtze River Economic Zone is "weak first and then strong",showing a positive U-shaped.Finally,taking into account the current situation of manufacturing and digital technology development in 11 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and considering the differences in regional resource endowments,this paper puts forward some suggestions from six aspects,namely,the construction of digital infrastructure,the construction of innovative forms of digital technology application,the establishment of a good industrial development environment,the cultivation of innovative digital technology talents,Promote the foundation of digital technology development standards,as well as enhance the digital economy governance capacity six aspects gave suggestions,and gives the research outlook.
