With the continuous development of tourism industry,the trend of internationalization of tourism market is constantly emerging,and higher requirements are put forward for the English level and reception level of tourism practitioners in China.As the standing army of the tourism industry,students majoring in tourism in secondary vocational schools play an important role in improving the reception level of international tourism in China and promoting the prosperity and development of tourism.Therefore,it has become an important goal for secondary vocational schools to transport high-quality tourism practitioners for the industry.As the core basic course of tourism service and management major,English for Tourism plays an important role in helping students majoring in tourism in secondary vocational schools improve their English level.However,the teaching of "Tourism English" in secondary vocational schools still adopts the traditional teaching mode,which does not highlight students’ dominant position,students’ learning enthusiasm is not high,and the separation between theory and practice often occurs.On this basis,this study,taking KUNMING X Secondary Vocational School as an example,tries to apply narrative teaching method to the teaching of Tourism English for tourism service and management major in secondary vocational schools,and discusses the improvement of teaching method of Tourism English.Based on analysis of research status at home and abroad,this study further to explore the related theoretical basis of narrative method,through the questionnaire survey method,observation method and interview method,analyzing the current situation of secondary vocational tourism English course,and the narrative method fully integrated into the "tourism English" course content in the teaching design and teaching practice,this paper respectively from the following five parts:The first part mainly describes the background information,research significance,domestic and foreign research overview,and research ideas and methods.Through the study of the current situation,find the gap of narrative teaching research,and then put forward the research ideas and research direction of this paper.The second part,from the theoretical level,summarizes the relevant core concepts of this study,and discusses the theoretical basis and basic operating principles of narrative teaching.The third part investigates the students’ learning of Tourism English in KUNMING X Secondary Vocational School through questionnaire survey,and interviews the teachers who teach the course of Tourism English.Based on this,the feasibility of applying narrative teaching method to the teaching of Tourism English in secondary vocational schools is analyzed.The fourth part of the in-depth teaching practice research,according to the situation of students and teaching content fully into the narrative teaching method for teaching design.This paper explores the positive role of narrative teaching method in the teaching of Tourism English in secondary vocational schools,and discusses the value and significance of narrative teaching method in the teaching of Tourism English in secondary vocational schools from three perspectives: improving classroom effect,improving students’ learning enthusiasm and promoting teachers’ professional growth.The fifth part,from the perspective of teachers and students,further summarizes the application of narrative teaching method in the teaching of Tourism English in secondary vocational schools,in order to provide some reference for the teaching of Tourism English in secondary vocational schools.
