| With the increasingly serious problems of environmental pollution and resource exhaustion,green development is imperative.China’s food retailing market is facing the situation of rapid growth of consumer demand,the development space of the industry continues to expand,and the traditional food retailing model also has the disadvantage of low resource utilization,based on this,more and more scholars have noticed the importance of firms to implement environment-oriented management activities.Studies by domestic and foreign scholars have found that firms integrating environmental protection awareness into human resource management activities and supply chain practices can minimize the negative impact on the environment and improve corporate performance.Since the research field of previous scholars is mostly manufacturing industry,the research on the retail industry is not sufficient.Therefore,this paper takes the food retailing industry as the research object,starts from the firm’s green human resource management,takes the practice of green supply chain as the mediating variable and considering the moderating role of institutional environment to study the impact on firm performance.In order to solve the problem of research,this paper defines the retail,food retailing,green human resource management,green supply chain practices and institutional environment on the basis of related concepts,based on the circular economy theory,the AMO theory,stakeholder theory and the firm performance evaluation theory to build the green food retailing on the impact of human resource management on firm performance concept model.By referring to relevant domestic and foreign literature and selecting the maturity scale of representative literature,a questionnaire was designed to investigate the impact of green human resource management,green supply chain practices and institutional environment on firm performance in the food retailing industry.Data were collected through field investigation and online questionnaire distribution,and 357 valid questionnaires were collected.SPSS 24.0software and Smart PLS 3.3.7 software were used for descriptive statistical analysis,reliability analysis,validity analysis and structural equation model evaluation of the recovered data,and the mediating role of green supply chain practices and the moderating role of institutional environment were tested.The results showed that:(1)Green human resource management and green supply chain practices of food retailing firms have a positive impact on firm performance,and green human resource management has a positive impact on green supply chain practices.(2)Green supply chain practices plays an mediating role in the relationship between green human resource management and firm performance.(3)Institutional environment plays a positive moderating role in the relationship between green human resource management,green supply chain practices and firm performance.Finally,based on the research conclusions,relevant countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from the perspective of the food retailing industry and the government to improve the green management level and performance of food retailing firms,promote the sustainable development of the industry,and enrich the research on the impact of green human resource management in food retailing industry on firm performance to a certain extent. |
