In the background of imbalanced and inadequate development of China’s rural economy, agricultural modernization is an important way and key link to implement the requirements for industrial prosperity, reduce the gap between urban and rural development, and achieve rural rejuvenation. As one of the earliest provinces in the reform and opening up of China’s coastal areas,Fujian Province has made great achievements in agricultural development. At the same time,it is facing problems such as tightening agricultural resources constraints and imbalanced regional development.Agricultural development has both regional characteristics and national commonality.Based on the current situation of agricultural development, this paper scientifically measure agricultural modernization level, the evolutionary laws and driving mechanisms of regional agricultural development.it has great of significance to explore new driving forces for agricultural development, supplement the “short board”of agricultural modernization, and promote the comprehensive realization of Fujian Province and even the country.Firstly,This paper discusses the theory about agricultural modernization, reviews the agricultural development history of Fujian Province and analyzes the current situation.Based on this,it examines the level of agricultural modernization development in Fujian Province during 2005 to 2018.Sixteen indicators are selected in five aspects including agricultural input、agricultural input、agricultural management、farmers’ standard of living and agroecology.Mathematical statistical analysis methods are used to construct Fujian Province’s agricultural modernization evaluation system from the provincial and county levels.Respectively, using Gini coefficients and spatial statistical analysis methods to analyze the spatial and temporal evolution pattern of agricultural modernization. The results show that the level of agricultural modernization has increased year by year, and the differences in agricultural modernization between counties have gradually expanded. The level of agricultural modernization as a whole has a spatial distribution pattern that gradually increases from the west and north of Fujian to the southeast of Fujian, which relevant is agglomeration and distribution. The spatial distribution of cold and hot spots in agricultural modernization has distinct levels and fluctuating characteristics. The scope of hot spots and sub-hot spots has gradually expanded, the scope of cold spots and sub-cold spots has gradually narrowed.Low-value clustering trend weakens and high-value clustering trend strengthens. Then, the theoretical framework of the driving mechanism for the development of agricultural modernization was constructed.Seven indicators were selected from the four aspects of economic factors, location factors, social factors, and policy factors.Empirical analysis of the driving mechanism of agricultural modernization using geographic weighted regression model. The results show that:The impacts of agricultural modernization drivers are complex and diverse.Economic and policy factors have a significant positive effect on agricultural modernization drivers. The positive effects of fiscal investment, industrialization, and investment levels have weakened in turn.Population density has shown significant effects on agricultural modernization drivers. The social factors is unstable. The influence of various influencing factors on agricultural modernization has both time and space differences, indicating that the evolution pattern of agricultural modernization in counties in Fujian Province is the result of the interrelationship and common effect of economy, location, society and policy. Finally, according to the results of empirical analysis, this paper put forward policy recommendations to further promote the development of agricultural modernization in Fujian Province from three aspects:rational allocation of internal factors, improvement of the external macro environmen and policy system construction,so as to promote the optimization and efficiency of agricultural modernization. |
