At present,China is in a period of industrial structure upgrading.The economic development model of the Northwest is mainly extensive,high energy consumption,and high emissions,so it has practical significance for the research of the low carbon economy in the Northwest.This article collects data from statistical yearbooks and national statistical yearbooks of various regions in Northwest China.Calculate the total carbon consumption of various regions in Northwest China from 2005 to 2017 using the carbon consumption coefficients of various energy sources.The ARIMA model is used to predict the total carbon emissions and regional GDP from 2018 to 2020.Decoupling theory is used to explore the decoupling relationship between economic development and carbon emissions in various regions in the Northwest.The DPSIR model selects indicators to establish an evaluation index system for the comprehensive level of low-carbon economic development,and combines the statistical entropy method to calculate the comprehensive development level of the low-carbon economy in the northwestern regions.Combining Arc GIS software with SPSS and EViews software to explore the differences in low-carbon economic development in Northwest China.The research results show:(1)The total carbon emissions in the northwest region can be:high-carbon areas(Shaanxi Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region),relatively high-carbon areas(Gansu Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region),low-carbon regions(Qinghai provinces);(2)Decoupling The discriminant results show that the relationship between economic development and carbon emissions in Qinghai and Gansu provinces is better than in other provinces and autonomous regions,and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the worst;(3)Comprehensive development level results indicate that Shaanxi Province has the best development,Qinghai Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region are next,Gansu Province is worse,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the last;(4)The difference in comprehensive development level shows that: the overall trend between regions is shrinking,the difference within regions is the smallest in Shaanxi Province,and the largest in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region;(5)The cause of the difference is the low-carbon economic development momentum,coordination degree and geographical environment.Combined with the results of the study: improve the driving force for the development of low-carbon economy;improve the coordination of low-carbon economic development and actively develop advantageous green industries;strengthen regional economic linkages and achieving complementary industries;reduce carbon emissions,advocate greening of enterprises,greening of life,and other policy recommendations.
