Research On Influence Factors Of Farmers’ Professional Cooperatives Financial Performance

Farmers’ professional cooperatives as a mutual economic organization,has played a positive role in promoting agricultural economic growth,accelerating agricultural industrialization process and helping farmers increase production.On October 31,2006,China promulgated The Farmers’ Professional Cooperatives Law,establishing the legal status of farmers’ professional cooperatives in China.In recent years,the government introduced the relevant policies to support and standardize the development of farmers’ professional cooperatives.The farmers’ professional cooperatives in our country continue to grow in the number with a booming trend.The development level of our country farmers’ professional cooperatives in different parts is different.On the whole,our country farmers’ professional cooperatives operation level is still relatively low,existing problems such as imperfect governance mechanism and non-standard management.Therefore,to strengthen the in-depth analysis and study on the financial performance evaluation of farmers’ professional cooperatives and the factors influencing the financial performance,can reveal causes of performance differences in different cooperative,provide countermeasures for reference to improve the level of the performance of cooperative,promote sound and fast,healthy and sustainable development of farmers’ professional cooperatives in China which has important practical significance.This paper,systematically reviewing and combing a lot of related literature at home and abroad about farmers’ professional cooperatives performance study,from the operating conditions of farmers’professional cooperatives,the director characteristics,governance activities and the external environment of cooperatives four dimensions to analysis the influence factors of cooperative financial performance,set up corresponding 16 specific measurable indicators,and put forward the theoretical hypothesis.After determining the measurement indicators,This paper designed the questionnaire about farmers’ professional cooperatives,investigate and interview 80 farmers’ professional cooperatives in nine cities of Fujian province in order to get the relevant data.Using SPSS software and Amos software,It carried out on the sample data with reliability and validity test,principal component factor analysis and structural equation model analysis to verify theoretical assumptions.Data analysis results show that the operating conditions of farmers’ professional cooperatives,the director characteristics,governance activities and the external environment of cooperatives are significantly positive influence on financial performance,which is consistent with the theoretical assumptions.Among them,the operating conditions of the cooperative had the greatest influence on financial performance,the second is the external environment,and the director features relatively minimal impact on cooperative financial performance.Based on the empirical analysis results,this paper puts forward the suggestions to promote our country farmers’ professional cooperatives financial performance:improve the level of cooperative technology;attaches great importance to the cultivation of directors;improve the mechanism of cooperatives internal governance;strong support from the government.
